Hello, I am new here. I was hoping to hear someone who has same condition as me. I had spine injury about 1.5 year ago. I had a fracture dislocation of T6- T7 vertebras and the cord was crushed and left in a chariot. I am also T5 para. I had to have metal work in to put my spine back in place. I was wondering if anyone else has too and had theirs taken out after time or still in place? I appreciate any information. I am 28, male.
Hi, I am T5 para since my accident in June 2003. I had two plates and four screws put in to support my spine after shattering the T5 vertibrae. My doctor told me that they will stay in place. I guess it depends if they were put in place to rebuild the spine or just temporarily support it. But I am not a doctor you should ask him that.
