My husband and I are beginning to try to conceive, my doctor has never had a patient take Strattera during pregnancy I have been using it for almost 2 years. There is limited information on this, My doctor suggested not taking it during the 1st trimester. But wouldn't this still effect the baby if I am using it during conception. Has anyone heard any pros/cons.
Thank you

The problem is that effects of Strattera have not been studied in pregnancy. That is also the main reason why there isn’t much info about it.
I suppose this is why it is advised to quit taking Strattera during pregnancy because they don’t know if it would pass the placenta. They also don’t know if it can be passed through milk.
I suppose your doctor should consult his colleagues who may have had patients using strattera during pregnancies or know someone who treated, so that he could become aware of the problem and possible side effects.
Good luck with your conception!
