I had a 2 internal and external hemmorroids removed. Same story, they told me recovery was two weeks. After the 2nd day, i couldnt beleive the surgery was outpatient surgery, when after labor they monitor you for 2 days and at least wait until you urinate and have a bm.. Having a bm for the first time was a 12 hour opertion. Having taken so many laxatives, i was having spasms all over the area but nothing was coming out. I pushed and bleed but was only constipated from the vicoden which made me constipated. i stopped taking hte vicoden because it was making me nauseaus. After twelve hours in the bathtub in pain, i called the fire rescue to pick me up. i was exhuasted from the pain, the pushing and in cold sweats from the whole ordeal. I felt i would faint inthe bathtub at the tweth hour. In the hospital i was a nervous wreck, having not slept and constipated and super uncomfortable fromthe laxatives working spasms with no BM. I couldnt walk, i couldnt talk because of the pain. i hoped for no sneezes and coughs.I still could not sleep. They gave me three different laxatives and morfine to sleep. By the time i woke up four hours later, i was able to go have bowel movement and it wasnt so bad, i mentalized as if in labor with the same breathing techniques.
The sleep helped so much. Since then, no more constipation. I have helped myself with KONSYL(so much better than all the other fiber brands and mineral oil! - these have become my best friends 2 tablespoons a day! what a releif.
Now it has been 4.5 weeks and it is 1 day better 2 days worse. I have one side that is healed and another that is not. THe side that is not, has a hard inflamed ball towards the back of the anus about an inch from my incision. Maybe about the size of a marble. I have no idea what that is but it hurts.
has anyone experienced anyhting like this inflamed ball a month later?
I am in awe at how long the recovery is am so glad to not be working because i had no idea that the discomfort would last so long. I get tired easily and get frequent pains in the area. I still bleed during bm's and have continued with my soaking and application of ice. I walk funny as if i was holding somethign down there and am eager to see that the final results were worth it.
