My used to be best friends in elementary school were twins and they have celiac disease. One also has lactose intolerance and it must be horrible for them. Anyway, my stomach is making gurgling noises and it sort of hurts. I'm constipated and it burns when I urinate. I'm trying to he healthier and eat less fatty sugary stuff but it's not really working. I've started going to the gym a bit. It's weird. I've found that just laying down and forgetting about it, maybe sleeping, helps for a bit. Might I add that I can't really do anything about it since I'm almost 13, and it's 12:55 AM and I can't sleep? Sometimes if something like this happens I take a TUMS, or, because this usually happens along with PMS cramps, 1 Extra Strength Tylenol, because we never have regular and 1 is the dose for my age. Already it's gone away a bit by writing a comment (it was happening just a few minutes ago when I was in the restroom). Hope this sort of helps!

I'm having the exact same problem that started about a year ago and has intensely got worse over the passed few weeks. I'm always tired and been more emotional lately than I ever have been. And headaches on the daily that I've never had problems with. Most my pain and discomfort and gurgling is on the left side of my intestines and upper part n constant pain shooting straight into my upper back. If I eat a regular meal its ten times worse, I can only really eat one small thing a day to keep everything at a minimum. Which is causing me to lose weight. its put me in the emergency room from work once but they say it's just acid reflex but I think it's something much more serious. I don't know what to do anymore, I can't live with it like this!

I know exactly what you are going through. My first bought of what you described started around 10 years ago. I would then have at least on period of this discomfort a year but this year has been awful with many frequent spells which last for weeks and then will disappear for weeks. There is no ryhme or reason to it. I have given up going to the doctors as it is diagnosed as IBS every time. Like yourself I am a keen runner and love my 5 and 10k's but am so out of shape at present as it is impossible to keep up the level of fitness I require due to this problem. I am declined to now think it is IBS but am always worried it is something more sinster. Perhaps it is just a phase and the boughts get less frequent but sometimes it does get me down and depressed. Just stick in there.

I would highly recommend that ALL of you read up on SIBO. Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth.
I have the extreme pain, horrible bloating and obnoxious gurgling immediately upon eating. At this point, I avoid eating until I absolutely cannot wait any longer.

I have been battling a Candida Yeast overgrowth for over a year, and almost have that under control. My naturopath feels I have SIBO as well. I'm waiting on my insurance appeal to take an antibiotic called Xifaxin, which is really expensive if not covered by insurance.

I have been completely grain free for 5 years, and am still miserable. I'm nearly 100% certain that SIBO is to blame.

I know how miserable all of you are. Read up on SIBO. Consider doing a skype consultation with a specialist if you are not near one. SIBO is one of those weird things that some traditional docs may not be familiar with. However, it is directly linked to IBS, which is basically a catch all that they throw all of us weird belly people into. LOL

Read up on SIBO. Seriously.

Good luck.

My daughter had hp. Which is helico Bacter pylori. At age 8. She failed the blood test and the milk test so they had to do a endoscopy to get a piece of the stomach and test it. Sure enough that's what she had. My daughter was put on nexium and tetracycline and it worked but it took me 2 years to actually find a pediatrician with the children's hospital to find this out. My daughter would throw up her food once it hit her stomach and at the same time she was having diaharrea and she would be doubled over in so my pain Several drs would say oh it's ibs or say she has a nervous stomach but I knew something was def going on so I finally got my insurance to find me ped gastrointerologist and she knew she had it right away . Hp was explained to me as all of us Americans in the U.S. Has this but get diagnosed wrong because some people like my daughter will always have to have an endoscopy because she will test negative for the blood test and the milk/breath test . They say it's because we all eat hamburger meat. I hope you find this as some help for you. My daughter is now 29 with 3 children and my daughter knows when she gets it again because the dr did say it will come back so she tries to stay away from hamburger meat and spicy foods. But those 2 Meds cleared it right up she had to take it for 1 month .

My symptoms are aggravated when I sit down. I feel better standing or laying down. I have had these symptems for 2 months now, all of this makes more grouchy aggravated and have less patience. I have tried gluten free foods dairy free foods and I eat alought of fiber and the only thing I drink is water. After reading everyone's suggestions, I am now going to try probiotics. Any more suggestions would be nice. Thankyou

I feel for everyone who posted and I appreciate your sharing. I am now in the same boat you are in. For the past year I have been dealing with changes.. gurgling noises from stomach, nausea feelings, gas, bloating I feel like I've gained 15lbs... at first it was just once in awhile and now it is almost everyday. It seems that every afternoon I am in terrible discomfort.

5 days ago I stopped eating wheat--all forms--and I was starting to feel better. Then last night I was sick again. I forgot myself and drank a little of beer. later I was throwing up. I won't forget again.

Ginger tea does help a lot . I travel quite often so I try to be picky at restaurants.
I'm also cutting out carbs.. and trying to eat just chicken, fish and steamed veggies.
I hate feeling this way and it is interfering with work. Flying in the afternoons is awful.

I hope that these changes help.
I'll keep my eye on this site for any further information.
Thanks everyone.

You mentioned you chew gum. Do you chew gum with Xylitol in it? Many people are sensitive to Xylitol and similar sweeteners that can cause abdominal discomfort.

You might have celiac. Give up all forms of wheat, rye and barley...also look out for hidden gluten that is in soy sauce and beer.

You poor thing I know how you feel I've had pain for five days can't go to number 2 due to all the pain killers I've had to take -had to go to A&E it as so bad. They gave me lots of morphine and found a gas bubble in my stomach. Peppermint water and shot of buscupan seemed to work but all the pain retuned one I got home. As my vitals were on bloods a, endoscopy and colonoscopy ok both the hospital and mr dr say they can't help me until o have an MRI. Which is happening I July. But you'd think they'd be able to get rid of a gas bubble? Doctors can be hopeless I am fed up with the lot of them and turning more and more to my pharmacist for advice. Hope you get better soon. The pain is just life-wrecking!
