I think I have the answer to all who may be experiencing this odd movement in your abdominal area! Though, this is only for women who have had a child.
It's called : diastasis recti.
It is the separation of the abdominal muscles after carrying a child. In some woman, the muscles return to normal. In others, the muscles do not return to their normal position after birth. Leaving a separation, that reveals the movements happening in your intestines. Unlike prior, when your muscles used to cover them.
There are exercises you can try that can help strengthen your muscles and close the gap. But not all abdominal exercises are helpful in the case of "diastasis recti". They have to be inner core workouts. Sit-ups will only make the gap worse. Google this condition for more info. It is very interesting. It can also cause other issues like back pain, which may be undiagnosed by a doctor looking for a problem in the wrong area! Hope my answer helps some of you.
Oh amd there is a self test you can do to see if you do have a space between your muscles(also available online), where u lie on you back and press 2 fingers down on your bellybutton, then do a slight Sit-up. You should be able to feel your muscles tighten underneath ur fingers. If there is a gap the space of your 2 fingers, or more, you definitely have diastasis recti.
