Hi guys and girls,

Just been reading up about this as i have the same problem, plus i have been constipated for 4 days and has blood in my stool.

So I have read up about it, the blood, which was completely fresh was from an anal fissure, constipation was from eating too much fibre, as i know my body can and does do this. and the string, well thats undigested Fibre from things such as vegetable like celery or anything like green beans which also have strings you can't digest on.

However i am not a medical practitioner and i do suggest seeing your doctors to make 100% sure that there is nothing else

Quote:Some of your symptoms sound like ones my sister has and she has dysautonomia its a nervous system disorder that can cause problems with digestion, extreme fatigue, abdomin pain, lowered heart rate and blood pressure,or excelerated heart rate, and a bunch of other symptoms, I would talk to your doctor about it.

To the original poster; I know this was awhile ago and you probably have this sorted already, buuut, just in case anyone stumbles on this thread with the same question...another poster suggested that you have candida and i think that is what it sounds like too.

I had this and my symptoms were; stringy, worm looking stuff in my stool (which freaked me right out), distended tummy, extreme and constant fatigue, fogginess and tough time concentrating, unable to lose weight no matter how hard I dieted or exercised, persistant headaches, mild acne, bad breath and white coating on my tongue, rectal itching...and probably lots more that I can't remember now.

Maybe it's not this, but it's something to look into if you haven't figured it out yet.

I did the master cleanse for 14 days to get rid of it and followed it up with probiotics to restore the good bacteria to my body and it cleared it right up along with all those symptoms. Maybe this will help you or others...

I was given Reglan for the Gastroparesis and it was a saver. I threw up constantly for a long while and finally one weekend I threw up the whole weekend and went to hospital with severe dehydration and anemia. No more throwing up but have the same troubles with my stools it appears to be root like if in a clump but small strings wider then corn silk. I will ask my Gastrointestinal doc. As far as the rest of my health I have type 1 diabetes since 15 so that's 38 years now, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Pulmonary Fibrosis. I don't think any of that matters but there it is. When I hear something I will get back to you all.

Do you have any links to the process of the cleanse you did and the name of probiotics? Thanks!

I'm a medical student. If you notice ANY changes in stool aside from normal it is best to get checked-up by your primary care physician. Changes in form, color, consistency, etc of stool can indicate a number of things; the most serious being cancer of the GI tract. Cancers of the left sided (descending) colon can cause obstruction due to the small lumen size. Changes in color can be attributed a great deal of things too. Even simple viral infections that affect the liver (which produces bile...giving your stoll its characteristic appearance) can show up as a changes in color. Bottom line, be safe and get it checked out. The majority of GI cancers are found way too late. This is why cancers of the GI tract (particularly) colon cancers are high in mortality.

I agree. I've had a parasite infection, and I have had Candida. It seems like excess Candida expelling. I rid myself of Candida for 1.5 years, and seem to have it back between poor diet, and stress.

I had the exact same symptoms and I found out I was celiac disease! Try not eating gluten for a day or two and I guarantee you'll feel normal again. Try it! Also doctors misdiagnose celiac all the time do even if your doctor has ruled it out, still try not eating gluten and I guarantee that's your problem!

I have the same issue of stringyness in my stool. Sometimes I think the strings have a whiteish color, though sometimes I can't tell because they're so covered in brown. Sometimes they're pretty long. Sort of hair-like, but slightly thicker. Sometimes they're even thicker and stick out of the stool like apendages. Occasionaly I stare at them for a while to see if they move, like worms or other such parasites. That was of course the first thing I thought of when I started getting them, especially as I had been living for a year in a developing country. But I don't think they move like worms. I've had it at least for a few months. Sometimes I think it goes away and then sometimes it seems to come back, like today--which is why I was looking for answers and found this post. I had an annual physical with blood and urine tests months ago when I first started noticing them, and the doctor found nothing unusal. I also have rectal itchiness now after going to the bathroom. But I've had that for a couple years, and one doctor told me two years ago that maybe I was wiping too hard and cuting myself there. I occasionally, but not usually have a burning sensation when I pee. I don't have any other problems. Sometimes I think I am more fatigued than normal, and easily upset by things, but that could just be due to lots of work and personal life stress. So far in my research I've come up with a few possibilities: worms/parasites, candida, and celiacs disease. Anything else to add to the list?
