My 9 year old daughter has been complaining of her anus being super itchy. She makes sure that she wipes thouroughly after pooping so this is not the problem. I have not changed and laundy products or soaps of any kind so this isn't the cause either.We have tred using gold bond lotion on her anus but this is only a 5 min temporary fix. Any suggestions? I would like to know what causes this or is it a symptom of a bigger problem. She has me stumped on how to help her out. Any input would be appreiated.

If this has been going on for more than several days then I'd suggest you take her to her pediatrician. There are a number of things that it could be, most easily treatable. Without an exam though it would just be a guess. It could be a form of dermatitis, hemorrhoids, fungal or bacterial infections. The list goes on.
If it just started then make sure that she washes every day with a gentle soap. Then she should dry thoroughly, but gently. She does not want to irritate the skin more than necessary.

Is it worse at night? It could be pin worms.
