Hello,
I'm a pretty active woman, I run for 45 minutes almost every day, I eat healthy and am a vegetarian and am on prenatal vitamins plus iron for my vitamin deficiency as prescribed by my Gyno. Besides Yaz and the occasional ibuprofen, that's all I'm taking.
Before Yaz, I tried the patch, but my leg pain and spasms grew so great I had trouble walking, let alone running. So, I switched to Yaz. Now, the heel of my left foot is in constant pain as though it were a bruise and I am stepping on a marble; my feet and ankles are swollen.
My main concern is, I have a vaginal itching (moderate) and pain (severe). I thought it was a UTI and have treated that a few times, then I treated for a yeast infection, just to be sure. It isn't either. It gets really bad when I'm turned on. To the point that it feels like have a million tiny paper cuts and am being soaked in rubbing alcohol without ever going numb. My entire area gets really large, swollen and raw and the feeling doesn't go away for a few days.
I've switched condoms, lubes, soaps, you name it, but they're not the problem. It's not the sex. I've been with the same person for almost a year and it's just started with the Yaz.
I also run migraines which I used to treat with ice, teas/coffees and ibuprofen, but they're coming far more frequently and never quite leaving past the point of a headaching throb.
Help? :'(

Yaz is obviously giving you some serious problems. Bottom line, you likely need to go off hormonal contraception.
If you're having swelling in your left leg, that may be a sign of problems with the heart. Any time someone experiences pain in their left arm or leg, they need to look at that carefully. Birth control pills increase a woman's likelihood for blood clots and stroke, so I suggest you go off this pill and see a cardiologist to make sure everything's okay.
Birth control pills also increase a woman's likelihood of getting a candida infection in the vagina and intestines as well as disturbing the normal pH of the vagina. Your vagina may have irritation because it's too acidic. Again, going off the pills is likely in your best interest. After you do so, you can normalize the pH by douching with yogurt for about a week or so and taking probiotics. Go to a health food store and pick up a bottle of probiotics. You want to get different strains, so once you finish a bottle, switch to another bottle. DO NOT get probiotics from a supermarket or pharmacy. These are more often than not low quality and also contain dead bacteria, so they're useless.
Of course, don't go off the Yaz without talking to your doctor. Inform him/her what you'd like to do and how to properly do it.
You mentioned condoms, so my guess is you're trying to double up to avoid pregnancy. It sounds like for your health, hormonal contraceptives isn't the way to go. You can use condoms as well as a diaphragm, the rhythm method, or spermicide. You may want to avoid spermicide, however, as this can add irritation to the vaginal area and increase the likelihood of UTI's. Again, talk to your doctor about options.
