hi all, I have had similar problems to the above however I dont think this is un provoked, i was recently diagnosed with a kidney infection (and will be subject to further testing) and was put on a high dosage 1500mg a day of antibiotics for two weeks. it does say in the info leaflet that side effects can be thrush but I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this after/during antibiotic use? the area seems to have dried out ? although the area around the clitoris is swollen and sore, I have been lucky enough never to have thrush so am not fully aware of the symptoms :(
He was right. After nearly two years I am able to use tampons again, and whilst I can't have intercourse regularly, the condition is improving more and more with time. I do notice that the thrush and Vulvodynia and thrush is aggravated just after my period but as long as I stick to my medication it usually settles down after a few days.
I'm hoping that in another 6 months I will be back to normal which is such an amazing goal to work to. I strongly recommend you keep pushing your GP's to find answers as had I been diagnosed from the beginning my thrush would never have deteriorated into Vulvodynia which is a lot harder to live with.
I have very similar symptoms to all of yours. No discharge, no odor.. just burning. At first I had a UTI. I took antibiotics for it and it was supposed to go away but the burning sensation didn't. I went to my gynecologist and don't have any STD's, yeast infections, bacterial infections...NOTHING. I had my blood tested and it came back NORMAL. Today I went on ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed*** and talked to who I hope was a genuine OBGYN. I posted my entire history of this problem (as it has been over a month) and he responded with "Lichen Sclerosus." After looking it up and reading the symptoms.. I do believe this is my problem. I hope it's yours as well, as it is curable. I'm going to go back to the doctor and make them take a small biopsy of the area to tell me FOR SURE of what I'm suffering from. Being as it is a skin problem and not an infection, it will not show up on any swabs, urine tests or blood tests. One of the indicators of Lichen Sclerosus is white patches on your clitoris or elsewhere. Just yesterday I noticed two teeeeney tiny white patches after thoroughly examining my clitoris (I had to pull up on it and stretch it to really get a good look) I honestly thought it was just toilet paper that got stuck and I picked it off (which was way too tedious a task for it to be just toilet paper). After reading up on Lichen Sclerosus and realizing that little white patches could appear, I checked myself again today and again.. two small white patches where they were yesterday.
Examine yourselves very carefully ladies! This is something that even my gynecologist missed!!
Good luck to you all.
Hi ladies! I just came across this forum a few moments again when i typed my symptoms into google. I too am having the same symptoms as all of you- super red, itchy, swollen, burning pain. I've had this problem many times before. For me, I've found the best relief lies in one product- neosporin with pain/itch relief. It's the only thing besides taking a warm bath that has worked for me. Just get a tube of neosporin (or the off-brand, either works the same) that also has the itch/pain relief with it. Get just enough to be able to cover your labia areas, clitoral hood, and clit and smother it on. DO NOT wear thongs or tight underwear it will make it worse. After you put on the neosporin, go lay down in the bed or on the couch with your panties off and this will sound gross but trust me- put some ice directly on your labia. The ice cube will give you IMMEDIATE relief while you are waiting for the neosporin to start helping. I've honestly tried everything and this is the only thing that will help me. I hope it hopes you guys!!

I'm having almost the same symptoms and you said that you went to the doctor, what was the end result?
Thank You
