underneath my eyelids for about a week now. I at first thought it was due to switching from clinique's clarifying lotion 3 to 2 (which is less alcohol based, but has a "tingler" in it that 3 does not have). that is really the only thing I have changed in my regimen.
however, I noticed that the swelling is worst as soon as I wake up. there is also some pain in the area that is swollen. as the day wears on, with a shower etc, it will become almost unnoticeable. almost. and the pain is almost gone.
but as soon as I wake up, it's back to being swollen and painful! I tried thinking of any other factors that would play a part in this, and I realized that my cat will use my
bed as his bed throughout much of the day, almost every day. I have been around cats my entire life, so I didn't thnk that it was a factor. regardless, I washed my sheets, have been keeping the cat out of my room, and have seen significant improvement as a result!

These welt-like swelling bumps are getting bigger. I can feel them fill up with water and I have to keep my hands away from my face and avoid scratching my skin because it itches. Every time I went down to the basement to get a Christmas decoration box, my face would itch but I conciously avoided my fingers on my face. (I am sure that I am allergic to dust.) I am convinced that the swelling under my eyes is some sort of an allergic reaction. I have used Zyrtec at night and Zyrtec D during the day. I have put Cortisone cream on these bumps and it does nothing. I tried icing the bumps to see if the increased blood to the area would diminish the swelling and these bumps swelled up even worse!
I went to the dentist yesterday for an exam to make sure that there wasn't some sort of infection of my tooth or jaw.
Because of the other postings, I am going to check my parathyroid and I am going to check my histamine intake, not sure how to, but I am going to look into it.
My eyelids are unaffected. I have gone without make-up for a few weeks, so I have ruled that out. I have not changed hair products and my skin doesn't react to my hair products anyway. I will watch my salt intake.....I do not salt my food anyway. I hardly eat fried foods. I am trying to eat more raw fruits and vegetables anyway. I do not eat a lot of processed meats and I am looking into a vegan diet anyway, so I have cut way back on dairy products and meat products.

I am experiencing the same thing and I can say some of the puffiness could be caused by spicy foods and pepper. You may want to stay away from these foods and see what happens.

When the symptomes like this( rashes, bumy eyes) means our immunity is seviourly down, we have to improve the immunity, that is why doctors give us "Prednisone", do not take too much Prednisone. Try to use Probiotic Acidophilious supplements, which improves our immunity.
And also consider for Allery Patch test, so that dermotologist can tell narrowly u what substance causing the allertgies to your body, so that we can stay away for that substance(s).
Hope you will be benefitised from this.
Thanks
Suresh
