Hi, I've recently found one swollen gland around the upper part of my thigh, near my groin. This has caused a lot of pain and problems with walking. I'm paranoid if it is signs of cancer. Is it?
Most probably a swollen lymphatic gland which means there is most likely an infection going on neaby. You most likely have a fever and there is redness at the site. It means its time for you to go to Urgent Care or find out if your physician can see you tomorrow. Yes, it is that serious. there may be a chance of blood poisoning "septic shock", as true an emergency as there can be and one which very few ever make it through. I don't mean to be alarmist, but you need to see someone now.
Like medicalmen said this is definitely urgent matter and you need to see your doctor as soon as possible. it is most likely infection but it can be a lot worse and that a lot worse is serious and it is better not to alarm you about it. See your family doctor and explain what is bothering you and it is essential that you explain the pain you are feeling. He will refer you to the urologist and you will see with him what the diagnosis is.
After he diagnoses your condition the treatment will follow and hopefully it will be something very simple such as antibiotics. I hope that you will resolve your problem soon. Keep us posted.
