I was diagnosed with CIN III and was told a Leep procedure will remove my abnormal cells. I had the procedure done a week ago and noticed my lymph nodes on the left side are swollen and sore. Has this happened to anyone? I'm not sure of o have an infection or something worse.

Did you ever get the answer to this question. Currently in the same dilemma. Thank you.

Hello all.

The swelling and tenderness of the lymph nodes can be a sign of an infection or other medical conditions. Here are a few potential reasons for lymph node swelling and soreness:

  1. Infections: Lymph nodes can swell in response to infections, as they are part of the body's immune system. This can include minor infections like the common cold or more serious conditions.

  2. Injury or trauma: Sometimes, if there's been an injury or trauma near a lymph node, the node may swell in response.

  3. Post-surgical inflammation: Any procedure, including LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure), can cause some inflammation in the body. It's possible that this inflammation might lead to swollen lymph nodes.

  4. Other medical conditions: Certain conditions, such as autoimmune diseases, cancers, or other types of infections, can cause swollen lymph nodes.

  5. Unrelated conditions: It's also possible that the swelling is due to an entirely unrelated condition to your LEEP procedure.
