I am diabetic. I have been getting a funny bad egg taste in my mouth. It started with fruity drinks. At first I thought it was the water, so I went to bottled. Then I thought it was the sugar substitute. This morning my sugar was low so I ate a piece of grape hard candy (regular sugar). The egg taste got so bad I started gaging & now its lingering.
Hi,
The thing is that diabetes can alter your taste in mouth. And as much as I know the taste can vary from person to person. Some taste everything with metallic flavor, some say that everything is too salty and some that everything is too sweat. Diabetes is known to affect the nerves on taste buds.
What medication are you using right now? It is common side effect that diabetes medication cause altered taste. Have you ever had any problems with tonsils? The problem here is that there is still no cure for diabetes; you can just manage the condition. I think that many people tend to get used to this taste and in time they even forget about it.
Whenever I eat fun dips or any kind of powdery candy my taste buds go all funny. They become sensitive and they go from being pink to orangey red. Also, everything tastes stronger. What does this mean?
