Hi I'm 17 and am worried about my growth and the possible health hazards that come along with it since I know nothing on this topic. I'm currently in the 11th grade and I'm 5'8". I've been exactly 5'8" since end of my 7th grade year. All the males on both sides of my family are relatively tall. My father is 6'2" and he's the shortest of his syblings, on my mothers side all the males are over 6 foot except on of my uncles whose 5'10'. My father said he stopped growing in 8th grade and i do wish i was taller than i am now can someone tell me some possible reasons as to why I'm literally the only male in my family whose ever gone through this.
Don't worry, you'll keep growing, you just have not reached your growth spur yet. Some people grow after their marriage. It is proved that people who are smaller tend to grow later and their growth spur is greater than tall ones. I am in 8th and I am 5'6 and my parents are small but my relatives are tall and I have suffered from lifting heavy things to hard punches on my backbone and still my doctor and teachers say I will grow normally. I also free weight and my doctor sees no abnormalities in my growth. All of my classmates are half a head taller than me but my doctor said I am having a late growth spur but he says I will grow bigger later, don't worry, you'll probably grow after you graduate or in 12th.
