Hey everyone, was doing research and found this discussion, felt the need to chime in.I am a 19 1/2 yr old male, just finished my second year at college. I first started smoking weed on and off since freshman year of high school, which I admit probably wasn't the best age, but needless to say could be something to mention. I smoke quite regularly now while at college, multiple times a day when I can. I started to notice a considerable, dull but nauseating ache in my left testicle toward the end of my last semester, especially more noticeable after toking up, which led me to at least question the correlation.. Since being back at home during my summer break I haven't been able to smoke very much, just occasionally with friends or with the girlfriend - thus now giving me some reference. One night after smoking the pain was so bad I woke my mom up and had a trip to the ER, where they gave me an ultrasound. They found a small "epididymal cyst" about 5mm, but the doctor told me it wasn't anything to worry about, not cancer, and really shouldn't give me too much pain. I saw a urologist, he also didn't think anything was wrong, gave me a rx for aleve.. told me to return if the pain didn't go away or got worse. Since stopping regular use I have noticed a definite decline in the ache, which normally coincided with my left testicle raising up, occasional upper thigh/groin pain, and some aching a little above the base of my penis but to the left (I thought maybe lymph nodes, but not sure, could just be the piping?). Sometimes the ache returns faintly after masturbating or having sex, but again really only felt it after smoking, and more common with larger quantities (and maybe drinking a little at the same time.) I enjoy marijuana, it has many beneficial effects for me, including an increase in my creativity (I am an artist, musician, music producer), a decrease in stress, and even helps relax my muscles as I often suffer from restless legs, especially when trying to relax sober or get to sleep - all reasons I would like to learn more about this drug and the potential long term side effects it has on our bodies. With a basic understanding of how different compounds can affect us, I can imagine the increase in heart rate after smoking can contribute to the sensation, but not everyone who smokes experiences these truly awful symptoms. Could it be the linked to the habitual use of higher potency weed than ever before in our history? Could our symptoms just be exaggerated after use, not primarily caused by? Could it be our exposure at younger ages? There are questions to be asked, friends. I advise everyone here to at least return at a later date and tell of their status so far, and to try giving the doobies a rest for a bit and see how you feel.

I decided to do some tests and have come to the conclusion that it's the smoke from cannabis that causes this for me. I tried edibles and I got no pain so that ruled the THC out - whilst THC is anti-inflammatory, the smoke from cannabis is not. I'm going to take a month's break from smoking and see if it still occurs afterwards.
I did wonder if weed was the cause as it happened the same night I went overboard on a gravity bong; unfiltered smoke seemed to make things worse than filtered through a normal bong.
I hope this is of some use to people!

Me again! I'm the guy who posted previously. I had some dud edibles last week and stupidly ate 1g of raw hash - it didn't have any effect but my pain came back pretty bad so I'm more inclinded to think it's because of the THC itself. It's been a week and it's not as bad but I know it's there.
I'm finished with cannabis for now as I'm convinced it's related to the pain. I'll post back here in a month or so to let everyone know the outcome - it could be that the huge gravity bong tokes, which caused immense coughing, affected my groin area and I've not allowed it to settle; I know THC can settle in your scrotal area, too, so hopefully once the THC has left my system then my body can start to recover. I might see what it's like to smoke again after a good month or two if this goes.

Hmm, I've been having the same issue. I smoked from age 14-19 probably 3-6 times a day. With me, I think it has to do with the fact that marijuana causes a temporary decrease in your androgen (Testosterone, growth hormone, and LH) levels. When smoking marijuana at a chronic rate during puberty, it can have some serious consequences. As crazy as it sounds, my reproductive system has grown in size since I quit, and my facial hair is much more thicker than it previously was.
Stay away from that "liquid silver" garbage and just start eating more red meat, fish and green vegetables.
Cheers-

So that pain in your testicles is rapid testosterone production. I forgot to add that

I'm quitting marijuana as of this moment. It sucks because I love pot but I love my balls more.
It's so disappointing to find out there's a correlation between my testicle pain and my marijuana use. I'm definitely going to bring this to my doctors attention. I will keep y'all posted.

PROBLEM: Two months ago, I noticed subtle pain in my testicles - it would come at random times. Then a month later, I smoked a joint (normally only using the vape) and I experienced a severe pain for about 5-8 minutes. I immediately quit for a month. The pain mostly went away during that time. However, I'm back to using the vape, and after 3-4 days, I experienced a short testie pain again (f*ck!). Only about 3 seconds of pain but it was very uncomfortable. It hasn't been frequent at all but there is definitely something happening...
PRESCRIPTION: My plan is to quit jerking off, use marijuana less (exclusively vaping), and avoid sitting for long periods of time. If things get worse, I'll seek a doctor for surgery. If that fails, I'll quit marijuana altogether. Weed still solves more problems than it causes for me so quitting is the last resort. I recommend following a similar strategy to the one I've suggested. Stay positive, and try not to overthink it. Good luck to each of you.
