After researching this surgery it seems that its success depends on the surgeons experience in this particular treatment even more so due to the fact that THD is still a relatively new treatment option for hemorrhoids. I'am just wondering whether anyone on this site has had this surgery in Ireland and if so what was ur experience of it and would you reccomend it or the surgeon who performed the surgery?
Hi, I've just had THD surgery performed in Ireland, Naas General & am exactly 7 days post op today. Won't go into the gory bits but I can definitely say this surgery is not for the faint hearted. I rang the Hospital this morning as am still in considerable pain & every leaflet they give you tells you 24-72 hrs is most patients recovery time.... I have not been able to go outside for a week now. Anyway the Hospital said give it another 3-7 days & I should be resuming normal outdoor activities and back to work. I have 2 children & can definitely say this recovery is more painful than childbirth.

Hi, I ended up back in there on the 23rd to have the stitches re done, that's why my pain was so bad, they never healed after the first op on Oct 2nd. Only now - 15th Nov am I beginning to feel 'normal'. The surgery is no walk in the park. Get well soon
