Well I certainly hope the ice/spoon/toothbrush/whatever else is on here works. And since this is also a sounding board for those who get lucky - I'm 37 and just had a lunch date w/a 21 year old personal trainer. Apparently all the "cool" kids are giving hickies these days. Don't really appreciate being tagged before I go back to work, but had fun. Now just have to get rid of the evidence...

oh my goodness. thank you so much people who answer this.
i didn't have any ice made and didn't want to wait for some to freeze so i used a cold sprite can and that worked perfectly. i also did the lipstick cap thing and you're right it does hurt but definetely worth it. got the hickey at 3 am, started icing at 8am and by 11 am it was gone, just looks a little red from the twisting cap but nothing near as bad as a purple bruise

I just got it in and and i gave my girl a BIG purple hickey on her neck && we tried ice that was a negative so we did the tooth brush tooth paste for ten minutes and the hickey is gone but now her neck is worse then it was with the hickey. It look like its burnt and she can't even turn her neck.

thank you guys

so i went and had a little fun this mourning. drove for a total of about 1.5 hours..

had NO idead there were RED AND PURPLE HICKEYS on my adams apple and neck...

till i got home, which must have been why the lady at 711 didnt care that i couldnt find my id for the smokes. (thank you 711 lady)

got home and freaked out

i had NO IDEA they'd be even close to this bad...

and im suppose to try and woo this other girl i relaly do like. these tips are life savers, by the way if all else fails, wear a turtle neck and say you are sick... it works fine too, esspecially if you are in a tight sitch with not enough time to de-hicky yo self.

DONNOT TAKE A SHOWER the heat just doesnt help at ALLLLL

I got a really noticeable "hickey" on my neck.  Wouldn't have been such a problem but I have a girlfriend and she didn't give it to me (I may be moving into a new girlfriend, but don't want the hysterical scene on the way out.)
Anyway...I read this and some other sites--all of whom suggested the ice as soon as possible followed by the twisting chapstick cap. I did these and they worked surprisingly well.  But I experimented and came up with some helpful additions to the above treatments.  Some sites mentioned applying toothpaste...did that and it seemed to help.  Some sites said that eye drops (Visine--gets the red out...works on skin as well as eyes apparently. Didn't do that...don't have any and the rest of this stuff seems to have fixed my problem).  Using a penny to twist crushed aspirin or tylenol was suggested.  I did this with the aspirin and found that using a water bottle (glass bottle with metal cap) with the aspirin allowed me to get much more leverage and torque onto the offending bruise....I REALLY SUGGEST THAT THIS "TWIST" ON THE CHAPSTICK CAP METHOD BE USED INSTEAD...SAME IDEA WITH MORE FORCE BROUGHT TO BEAR.

Good luck..and anybody who gets a woman so worked up that she resorts to animal passion like this is lucky...in at least one respect!

Ciao,

Me

yeah, so my boyfriend and i were at my house and things got out of control.. usually i tell him that if he wants to leave a mark, that he has to do it on my stomach, never on my neck or face. so what does he do, he gives me a giant hickey on my cheek the size of half a dollar * then he jokingly remarked that i looked like i got chris browned across the face....-__-*. i totally freaked out when i saw how dark purple it was, not something i could easily hide with makeup *trust me, i tried*. there was no way in hell i was going to go out in public with this giant mark on my face, so i tried icing it, which didnt really work.. but then i saw the lipstick method and tried it, and its like a miracle!!! it doesnt hurt, or require me to hold a frozen spoon to my face, so i am more than happy to recommend this to everyone, well with the exception of my boyfriend.lol

So I, like many people was drunk and ended up with something that looked like I got shot in the neck. I read this and wasn't quite sure how it would work, but I figured I would give it a go! I used my blistex cap and just rubbed it in, I didn't twist because I have sensitive skin and that was a bit painful, but sliding back and forth over it did the trick. Its a little uncomfortable, but it works. One tip- I suggest some sort of lubricant or moisturizer, because it hurts to rub plastic over your skin. Because I used blistex, I just applied a little to the bruised area and continued to rub it in. Don't go overboard because you can end up hurting yourself and making it look worse, I'm sure. But within 5 minutes I started to see a difference. I did it for about a half hour, and within a few hours it had gone from an 8 to a 3. Next day, its gone. I do suggest using ice or something to reduce swelling, if its over a large area, because you will get a little red and a little puffy from using this technique. However, having a slightly reddish spot that is easily covered up with some bronzer is a lot better than having to cake on concealer to attempt to cover up a huge hickey. Thanks website!

Okay , so I am a little young , I'm 15 , but my mom is very seroius about thing like this , so yeah . Okay the first thing I did was put some spoons in the freezer fora while , I did that around 10:45 . It's now 4:22 in the morning . Second i put toothpaste on my 5 hickeys that I have they are small , but really really dark . I put the tooth paste on them for 10 mins . And it's just terrible aha . But after that I put a warm wash clothe on the smaller ones fro maybe 5 mins . Than re-warmerd the wash clothe with warm water and put it on the other side and for another 5 mins . Than get ice and d ofor like 15 mins ; oh yeah the things we do now-a-days aha . Alright after you ice it . leave it alone froa little bit than check on it and it should be lighter . And than leave the spoons on fro 15 mins I know its long but worth it

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! But it really works ice and twist rubbing the chapstick or lip stick cap. My picture when from horrible purle to where, are they really gone. I did a complete photo shoot. Suddenly thought like why don't I go online. Why I am such a googler because the number one site was the website here. I am like so cool and I am glad. I not even the type who cares, but when lying was in the equation you may want to relieve or hide it. So worked. I have no hickey on my neck. Thanks a mill.
