About a month ago, I had a tonsillectomy. I had a normal and decent recovery. Since then I have kissed 2 new guys.  Just last week though, my throat began to hurt again, a lot. And about 2 days ago, a fever began, accompanied by fatigue and muscle aches.  I went to the doctor and he said it was a rare virus that i got because i was depleted already from the surgery. This virus causes bumps and blisters in the back of your throat.  He never said the word herpes, but everything i'm reading on the internet is saying it's herpes! Do i really have an STD?!
Hi, i see you mentioned you had a normal and descent recovery so that would really rule out that you havent had enough time to get some rest and heal. However, i believe that your dr was right when he said that you got the viral infection, probably because your immune system was off guard because of the surgery and everything. I dont believe you have Herpes, but you can always go and test yourself, its free and its anonymous. A lot of the times , even myself, find a dissaese that fits perfectly to my symptoms and i get scared and think WHAT NOW?.. But more often than not, people jump to conclusions before consulting the professional. After all, becoming a doctor takes a hell of an effort and studying. That why u think you should listen to your doctor and not panic about a STD. Have a nice day
