I just started having those same system yesterday while sitting at work , I'm thinking I should go see my doctor. Did you learn what might be the issue?
In May, I started experiencing Tinnitus, or a ringing in my right ear. After a week, it was followed by numbness or tingling on the back of my head and right cheek, also around my ear. It is all focused on the right side. I went to an ENT and he discovered I had partial hearing loss, caused by an autoimmune virus that attacked my ear. He put me on some prednisone for 3 weeks. I also had an MRI to make sure there were no tumors (it was all clear).
My hearing was restored, but I continue to have the right side of my head with that tingle. Some days are worse than others, so I don't know what exacerbates it.
After blood tests and general check up, my family doctor things it's a pinched nerve and it's also caused me stress and anxiety. My dog passed away, my job changed and this all happened at the same time, but I have not felt the same. I also have two small kids, but I feel like I've always been able to handle them.
I've been put on a small dose of Lexapro and Wellbutrin, but it's been 3 weeks since they added Wellbutrin and I don't feel much better. The only time I feel better is after a massage or after I take .5mg of Lorazepam.
I still question this- this is the longest time I've ever felt this bad in my life and I can only keep going back to the virus that occurred a few months ago. I have heard of others with similar situation, but with vertigo, which I did not have.
The reason for these feelings was active neurons excited, making connections or being ready to do so. The tingling would most often be in the head, but could sometimes be felt in other parts of the body- neurons (brain cells used for thinking) are also known as nerves in the rest of the body. Some clients also experienced up to headaches after especially hard mental workouts. (Drink lots of WATER!)
I'm not saying thia is exactly what is happening with everyone on this forum, but it could account for many of the posts I've read here, and especially in the cases if meditation and prayer. Those who were close to their menses, high or low blood sugar, and those who have recently quit smoking, etc., could be experiencing this due to a fluctuation in chemistry, as these things all effect how our brains function.
In the case that you think this could be what's happening with you, you can find out what part of your brain is 'growing' by looking up brain map images (easily found in a web search). Some examples would be: back of head, visualization; front/forehead, behavior and higher function; band across the top of the head ear to ear, hand-eye coordination.
Have fun growing your brain!
hi , i have also been getting this tinggling sensation on the top my head on rest more so , working down to my ear .just above weired or what , iam taking blood pressure tablets but also calastrol tablets , would be intrested to hear from any one same experiance about this .
My doctor suggested that it may be the trigeminal nerve that is pinched or having issues. Not to be confused with Trigeminal Neurolgia, which is very painful for those that suffer from it. Massage and mild dose of muscle relaxers have helped me, but it hasn't gone away entirely. Still looking into this, but I am buying into the nerve theory and hope that it is self limiting.
at the moment i am having tests at the hospital my blood pressure drops and i go to pass out and i get the tingles in the side of my head and for the last couple of weeks the tingles in my head r more often and im getting realy dizzy to im hoping this gets sorted soon
