Finally i found some people with the same symptoms.

I have noticed the bumps on my hands earlier this year after my sister in law gave me a tester bottle of hand sanitizer and i went mad and used it several times a day. I would say about a couple of weeks later i noticed the first bumps.

Mine come and go, generally in a group of tiny "bubbles", if i look closely they have a tiny brown dot in the middle, but look more like a mix of a blister and a spot.

I have tried to treat them with verucca treatment, which kind of works, but is very harsh on your skin. It peels the top few layers of skin off, then the skin around breaks and cracks and it takes a while for your skin to look normal again. Where i have done it though, the blisters have not returned.

I seriously think that the cause for this is the hand sanitizer. I am known for washing my hands up to 20 times a day (I am a smoker and hate the smell of smoke on my hands :-), but never had anything like this, until the hand sanitizer gel was used.

Does anyone have any other methods of treating the bumps?

So I get the same annoyng bumps, mine can itch too sometimes.

One idea that I have recently come across is that it may be a fungus, a type o tinea, in the same family as athletes foot. I am going to try using the OTC athelete's foot cream on mine and see what comes of it. Thought I'd pass it along.

I just started getting these little bumps also and only on my left index finger. Kind of freaked me out because I initially thought they were warts. They're tiny and clumped togeter and when I pop them a thin watery substance comes out. They go away on their own and then reappear all the sudden. I work in a hospital, so I asked the pathologist there to take a look. He scraped them with a curet and put the tissue on a slide under the microscope. The only thing he could tell for sure is that they aren't viral. He suggested we might try freezing them to kill them, but the stuff he has I guess is pretty strong. He said it will probably hurt so I'm putting it off. I'll post again if I try the freezing.

Your description fits my problem to a T. I would like to do some experiments with yeast cures. What has your Dr. prescribed for that aspect of your problem?
I am going to try putting over the counter yeast medications on both my genitals and then on the affected fingers. I will then put on ruber gloves to keep the meds on while I sleep. I will be using vagisil or monistat as a masterbation lotion (sounds graffic, but I'm serious).
The itching of my crotch is fine most of the day. But when I go to bed, or just sit around with air exsposure to the area it can get extrebme. I gets much worse the more I scratch. I've had to get a bottle of calamine lotion to keep handy (thank goodness that works).

Posted: 04/18/08 - 20:39 Post subject: itchy bumps on hands

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Symptoms - tiny pinhead sized bumps that itch like crazy, off and on. When poped or broken a clear fluid will leak out for several minutes, they remain an open sore for several hours and then scab over. They appear along the sides of my fingers, and on top of my fingers. As they heal my skin becomes scaly and there is a white patch of dead skin.

I have been dealing with this for 10 years. I guess I should start at the beginning.

I know the exact day that these appeared, because it was the most stressful day of my life. I was so stressed out that I threw up.... I had heard of women getting yeast infections but never men, I just didn't know any better I was only 20, I had just had sex with my girlfriend and my crotch started to itch like it was on fire, so I scratched like any impulsive man would. My skin was all broken and I could see little red irritated dots that leaked clear puss. I itched for days and I was too embarrassed to go the doctor, when I finally did it looked like my manhood was going to rot off.... It was scary. During that time I scratched constantly... I started to notice these little dots on my fingers.... the ones that most of you have been describing, pin head sized itch like crazy sometimes and when burst clear fluid comes out. I don't think the two were related, I think that the hand bumps were brought on by the stress of my yeast infection experience.... but that was 10 years ago, and the yeast infection is long gone, only took a few days to get that taken care of... the bumps have been around for ever....

people comment on them all the time, because i am self concious i tell people its ant bites, because I dont want to tell them my hand rots continuously. I have gotten several creams from several derms..... nothing seems to work.... some make them go away faster, but its expensive, and it doesn't get rid of it, it just makes it easier to deal with. Every doctor I have met with about this has thought that it is a type of fungal infection.

As more time went by me and my girlfriend noticed that SHE was getting a lot more yeast infections. Which really sucked, it was almost like as soon as she would get over one she would get a new one. So we started talking to a doctor together about this new problem, at the time we didn't even think that these two things were related... I was chewing on my hand during a meeting with the doctor.. which is a habit i picked up on because of this c**p, and she asked me what I was doing. I told her about my hand condition and she had some insight for us. She started talking about how yeast infection work for women. There are a lot of dif. types but the most common one is caused by sexual contact with men. She explained to us that yeast infection are caused by a chemical that is secreted by the male sex organ when it sweats. So if you dont shower a lot as a guy you are more likely to give your girlfriend a yeast infection. She said that males aren't likely to get yeast infections because we have a chemical in our penis that fights them off at the same time. Kinda like we produce the disease and the cure at the same time. And we protect women by showering frequently.

This got me to thinking.... If I can give my girlfriend a yeast infection... could I give myself one, im sure my hands dont make this miracle fungus fighting chemical like my penis!!! Its embarassing to talk about, but you people dont know who I am, Anonymity is cool!!!! I have this problem... I masterbate. A LOT. Like at least once a day sometimes twice, normally before I go to bed. I think that these bumps are related to my bad habit... they seem to get inflamed when I touch my girlfriend sexually, and they seem to appear the day after I masturbate. I don't have the will power to stop though.... I have tried so hard and I just cant slow it down... If your a girl and you got it I think you get it from sexual contact with a guy that has it. If your a guy and you get it, i think its from touching yourself.

I find that if I wear tight clothing I get a yeast infection where the clothing rubs tight, When its hot and I sweat a lot I get real itchy in my crotch area too. I think I have seen that I am more likely to get a fungal infection now that I have had one that rocked my world.

I want you people to try and prove me wrong. My thesis is that because of a MAJOR yeast infection I once had, when I touch myself i spread this rash to my hands. I think now that I have had a yeast infection my immune system is weak to fungus and while my penis can kinda protect itself from a yeast infection but not completely remove it from the equation, when I touch myself it gets in my hands and starts this rash thing up. Greasy food, Humidity, Stress, and Heat seem to make it worse but I dont think they are the cause.

okay okay, i know what your all thinking.... just stop masturbating.... I CANT!!!! its so freaking hard an I have low self control, very impulsive person...

I guess after revealing all of this personal information to all of you my question is... Does anyone else understand where I am coming from? Have any of you ever had a nasty yeast infection? Do you think that this is related to my penis? Do we share the same scenario

We should all compare what all our diets are like. Are we all sedentary or very active? What are our stress levels? Do we all use antibacterial hand gel? From all the different info I'm getting from other websites, no one knows what this is and the docs are worried enough to try to figure it out. Everyone has a good idea, but no one knows for sure. Maybe we can all figure this out together.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Diet: I drink A LOT of diet soda. I have to admit my diet is not very healthy. I eat too much sugar and junk food.

I'm very sedentary. I have an office job and I'm not very active outside of work.

My stress levels are unusually high due to family issues right now.

Over the past year, I've almost become obsessed with antibacterial hand gel.

I have for some time occasionall got these clear blisters on the side of the tips of my fingers. It would usually go away after they dried up on thier own, but recently I had a more severe outbreak on my middle finger, on the tip just below the nail (but not under). This time it keeps breaking out over and over again. Then I got a tiny outbreak on the index finger of the same hand. I did some research and found a recommendation for hydrogen peroxide. I wash the areas with it and it seems to help so far.

Everyone needs to look at the wedsite below:

dermnetnz.org/dermatitis/pompholyx.html

There are nine pictures showing different forms of Pompholyx (Dyshidrotic Eczema). Does everyone find a pic(s) that looks like what they have? I most identify with 1 through 3, mainly #3.

I think there are a mixture of conditions here, and some may well have the eczema as described, but some may be experienceing a different condition.

I believe mine is caused in a similar way to Omega who posted a reply back a while. I have the tiny itchy spots mainly on my index finger nuckle though they are now appearing in my other fingers as my condition worsens. I bite them and a milky white substance seeps out, and eventually brown flaky skin forms which eventually peels off to leave nice smooth skin.

I have just returned from the doctor after trying to pursuade him that my recent diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis is really gout. My uric acid levels are only high to normal, but this has been building up undiagnosed for around 15 years, getting gradually worse until attacks are now quite frequent.

I believe these spots are a lesser form of tofi which some gout sufferers get to the extreme, and is the body depositing these uric acid crystals. I now remember I had this condition on my big toe originally but like many assumed it was a fungal infection.

If any of you are getting repeated unexplained joint strains which are happening quite often (without remembering what may have caused it), I would suggest that it would not hurt to look into the possibilities of gout or arthritis. I always assumed my wrist pains were due to joint weakness and strains until the shoulder started up.

I've had the same thing- small blisters cluster of them only on the end of my finger. I had a MD look at it, he said it looked like Hepatic Whitlow. Everything fits, except for I took the prescribed Acyclovir....it didn't work. I'm still getting recurrent blisters, and now I'm not sure what it is.
