This sounds just like my daughter and mother, my mom has had this problem for 10+ yrs, and my 11 yr old daughter started showing signs of it in the past year and a half, i deff new it was the same thing when she passed mucus (thats what the doc called it) she has history of kidney issues and one surgery behind her for bi laderal reflux, just when we thought she was done with kidney issues of course this arises, my mom said they just used her as gueine pig, not sure if thats spelled right, but they did give her Azogantrine but it has since been discontinued, however they do sell AZO in every drugstore and she says when she feels it coming back she takes AZO and it goes away, I have told the docs this and they just brush it off, seeing my daughter is only 11 I feel that it might not be good for her to take it. My daughters urine sometimes looks like red kool aid, I swear its that red, freaks me out, they all want to tell me "has she started her period yet?" and my response is "no" besides you dont have periods through the urethra. Things like this just makes me crazy, when the docs act like um well. Also my husband was diagnosed with FSGS renal disease and I also informed them of that, and that several ppl in his family have died resulting in renal disease, but again ummm wellll they said, my daughter has had traces of blood, bladder pcs, high protine, and now all this....Sometimes I feel depressed, knowing I know more than the docs and if not knowing more deff. am doing more. Best of luck to all of you, she see's her urologist on 6-3-08 and I will keep you posted. God Bless

:$ so, i undestand what everyone is talking about, and i feel the exact same thing, i have the chunks" as we all call them, but i feel a little something different. The outter part of my vagina is a feeling of burning when its touched, or if my underwear rubs on it the wrong way. I do feel a little bit of discomfort when i urinate, but its more like a burning sensation when its touched. And my sexual activity just went down completely. I mean, it usually hurts after a while of having sexual intercourse, but now, its burning and hurting mmediately when he penitrates me down there, and the doctors tell me i just have a uti, keep it clean down there and it will be fine, but its been like this, the mild pain for as long as i can remember, and now this moderate to severe pain is just unbarrable. They have nothing to say about it. Im sure that the "chinks" are the white blood cells, but what do you or anyone have to say about the pain and burning sensations on the outter skirts of my vagina? please if anyone knows please let me know. You can evern e-mail me at _[removed]_ im getting married soon and i dont want this to ruin my honeymoon. Please, i am desperate.

so, i actually came back from the doctors because my pain was so severe because i let it go for so long. Most times the little white chunks may even just be your white blood cells fighting off an infection in your bladder or in that general area.. other times though, like me, its a yeast infection. It is a little more difficult to catch a yeast infection as it is to catch a uti. A yeast infection is more likely to be caught in a second stage. The first is more just the little white chunks and the feeling and pain or urination. Sometimes you may feel a throbbing sensation just bellow your belly. The second stage is instead of throbbing, its usually a stabbing pain that shoots from one side of your bellyto the other, it doesnt just stay in that once area anymore. The chunks get a little bigger every time you urinate, and the blood tissues from before become more darker. As much as you may not like doctors, its best to go, they have a certain antibiotic that will get rid of it. Sure it may turn your urine orange for a little bit, but it works. It controls the blood tissues that get lost in your urine, and gets out all the yeast. Its for the best to make yourself healthy. Other wise, its going to find its way to your kidneys and give you kidney disease or kidney failure. good luck. i hoped this helped atleast one person.

I have been experiencing a UTI, or what I believe to me a UTI, for the past week. I have been fed up with my doctor so I have been trying to heal on my own with AZO. LAst week I had foggy urine, and back pains. This week I got pains in my low abdomen and pelvic area. My pee began to burn which made me realize I had a UTI, but I have been taking AZO and it seems to be the same amount of pain when I urinate. I also have white pieces in my urine that really freaked me out. Im hoping it is just white blood cells like one of you mentioned. Another one of you mentioned getting spots or bumbs that come and go? I have had that for about a month on my neck area. It probably isnt related but if you found out it was, let me know!

I have had the same problems as every one else. Although instead of the chunks being white, they kind of look like dried blood. Any thoughts?

I HAVE HAD THESE EXACT SYMPTOMS SINCE AUGUST OF 2007. IT HAS BEEN MISERABLE. I AM 33 YEARS OLD AND I FEEL LIKE I AM JUST DYING AND MY DOCS DONT SEEM TO BE THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED. I HAVE SEVERE FLANK PAIN WITH WHITE STRINGY STUFF FLOATING AROUND IN MY URINE. I ALSO NOTICE THAT IT TAKES ME A LONGER TIME TO MAKE PEE THAN IT USED TO. I AM SO FRUSTERATED BECAUSE EVERY TIME I GO TO THE DOCTOR ALL MY LABS ARE NORMAL EXCEPT HIGH WBC IN URINE WITH NO BACTERIAL GROWTH. MY DOCTORS INSIST THAT I AM DEPRESSED. I HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE AND HAVE NO REASON TO BE DEPRESSED. MY FLANK PAIN IS SO BAD SOMETIMES THAT I HAVE TO CALL IN SICK TO WORK. I HAVE HAD 2 CT SCANS 2 RENAL ULTRASOUNDS AND EVEN A RENAL SCAN. ALL HAVE COME BACK NORMAL. IN THE LAST 2 YEARS HAVE SPENT ABOUT 10000 DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET FOR MEDICAL EXPENSES AND HAVE NOT GOT ANY ANSWERS. CAN ANY ONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS. THANK YOU

hey there!! a few weeks ago i was out camping with my boyfriend and i got the snese of urgency to pee and so i did, but the urgency didnt go away and it started to become painful to pee, nothing would come out, and after an hour i was trying to urinate about every 30 seconds. the pain became pretty powerful around the second hour and we decided to take me to the hospital. it took awhile and within 3 hours of the symptoms starting i was urinating blood and the pain was bringing tears to my eyes. the blood was kind of stringy and the ER diagnoised it as a UTI. the pharmacist i went to to get my antibiotics told me that she didnt trust that ER with there results and to go see my regular physican about it. im a very healthy 23 year old woman and i just want to understand what happened. i was fine, perfectly healthy one minute and i urinated once and i couldnt shaek the feeling and within 3 hrs i was passing blood. i feel fine now, but i dont know if i should be concerned that it wasnt something more serious.

Ok so I was reading this while I was sitting in my bed freaking out. I have shown the samn symptoms. mine have been: tiny red pieces of tissue, and once a large white looking tissue (it looked the color of silicon puddy that you would use in your ear if your swimming). The location of the stinging pain (feels more like a burn) is located just where the head of my penis connect to the shaft. I stopped Urinating tissue the earlier today but I am still freaking out. It all started when:

A girl I have been sexually active with for 2yrs now came over. We watched a movie and had rough sex in which I ejaculated (i hope i spelled that right) but we didn't stop. We continued for another 20min then we cuddled and watched a movie together. The next day I masturbated and when I was about to ejaculate i gripped my penis tightly so that the semin would not come out yet and allow me to get to the toilet where I could "release". I know you don't care about my sex life but I'm simply giving you the events the lead to me coming to this forum. Anyway, so the next day I had to urinate, it burned a little, but no blood or tissue. But by the time that mid-day came around, I became very dizzy, vomiting, cold, and tired. I had to run to the bathroom every 3 to 10 min to urinate which slighly burned. That night I had to take a pain reliever because I had developed a mafor headache. Today I woke up and used the bathroom. The first time I urinated, it burned like crazy. The second time it was only a few drops but this time the last few drops of urine had a distinct blood tint and red tissue. I ended up "dripping" out 7 tiny pieces of red tissue (a little larger the a period would be on paper) the second to last time was the white tissue that I said looked like silicon puddy. The drops of urine became darker shades of red. As the day progressed though. by urine returned to a slightly normal color. No more tissue has come out yet, and the blood tint seems to be going away slowly.

I want to see a doctor, but I'm a 23 year old male college student in Florida that can't even dream of affording health insurance. Should I see if it continues to get better? Or does anyone have a better opinion? I am freaking out and as insane as it sounds, I was worried that I was bleeding out internally untill recently. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Scared and looking for answers

hi there,
i have had recurrent urine infections five times confirmed in the last 18 months. My last one was over a month again. It has cleared as l have done urine tests and cultured them and there is no bacteria found. However, l still feel very tired and have sensitive lower back, which feel heavy on both sides. Idont have white issues or blood. I am on three months antibiotics, co amoxiclav. I dont drink coffee or alchohol as l cant bear to and have stopped going out late in the evening as l am too tired. Is this normal after recurrent urine infection? my doctor thinks it is and he tells me not to have sex as l told him the infections are triggered by sex everytime. l am worried and have now referred back to a urologist in the private sector. l will also go to GP to do blood tests to see if its something else and also to a gynacologist, to see if there is anything else. it is ruining my life and also l am concerned l have something else or still have urine infection even though urine samples do not show.
thanks much

O_O  I'm sorry but I was scouring online for info on UTIs and pee in blood and I came across this.  What the hell are you waiting for. One month of UTI feelings, hematuria (pee in blood) and you are messaging on online boards as to what to do. Are you stupid or just penchant on dying.  Geez. Blood in stool or urine requires medical intervention, irregardless of what you think it is.  Ever heard of stones, bladder cancer, etc.... etc.... etc....

I am 19 years old, during my spring break almost two months ago I woke up and was urinating straight blood. I Immediately called my mom and my doctor to get in because at the time I thought it must have been something internal. The doctor told me there was a lot of blood and bacteria in my urine and prescribed me and antibiotic called bactrim which I have taken for a prior uti. When I finished the medication I was having severe burning and frequent urination which I did not have when the blood was the issue. I went for a follow up and there was still blood and bacteria, they tested me for sti's and gave me a pelvic examination to see if it was an infection there. Both results came back negative, so they once again put me on another antibiotic, this time nitrofuran monohyd macro. When I completed this medication I still had the frequent urination urgency and the burning, so I went to another follow up and there was no longer bacteria but there was still blood. They had no clue what could have been wrong and put me on a third antibiotic ciprofloxacin. During the time I took this I had pain in my lower back/kidneys and have had period cramp/nauseous feelings in my lower stomach. The only thing better was the burning had stopped, besides that I had more pain elsewhere and was urinating skin tissue. I went for yet another follow up and they did not find blood but more bacteria, they sent it out for another culture to see what kind of bacteria but they do not want to treat me a fourth time. I am planning to see a urologist when I come home from school, but at the moment I am worried that the doctors cannot figure it out and don't know how to deal with the current pains.

Well what happened? Did you have a stone in the Urinary tract or bladder? Did they do surgery or did it eventually break down and pass?
Similar issue without the same pains (ongoing acute pain with occasional spikes upon lack of hydration or ingestion of caffeine) .
And I am not taking any narcotics for pain, which is very brave, but I simply don't like them--

Sounds like interstitial cystitis.  I had the same symptoms with no infection and no kidney stones.  I had a lot of blood and bits of tissue.  It actually look like shredded skin.   ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use

There are ways to avoid irritating the bladder and thus control the formation of cysts through diet (for example, do NOT drink cranberry juice for this condition - aggravates it).  Diet is a huge part of the solution, and maybe the only way to control it.  If you think it's too much trouble to follow a specific diet, think how much trouble it would be if the only way you can pee is to insert a catheter.  You really don't  know if the irritation to the urinary tract will eventually cause scar tissue build up, and lead to the worst case scenario (catheters).  That's why I can't sign off without recommending that you should really see a urologist, even though I haven't done it yet myself.
