Hi Im 24 M and I just had my tonsils out. Im now on day 4 and to be honest Im not doing too bad. I was expecting the absolute worst reading through all the horror stories on various forums before the op. Anyway Ive managed solid food since waking up, all be it with some difficulty at times but I was told by the doctor that it is crucial to try and eat normally so Ive just forced it down. Even just having tiny nibbles whenever I could manage it. The pain has been on and off but nothing too major, the meds have been enough to help me cope. If you are planning to get your tonsils out dont be put off by other peoples horror stories because everyone reacts differently, the worst thing is getting random tonsillitus constantly which I now know I will never get again. Good luck to anyone getting them removed, I hope it goes well.
