Hi there! If you are sure that what you have is Sebaceous prominences you can relax. It is said that these little white spots that show up at the shaft of a penis are perfectly normal, so this means they are not an STD, and you can have sex!!!! I have them, and was iritated at first but then an urologist explained to me that I have to learn to live with them, so I did!!!!I hope you will too!!!
Well it wierd that no one talks about this sebaceous whatever it is more when i first noticed it i freaked out n thought i had hpv genital warts or sumthin but i was so sonfused because im onoy 17 and havent had sex before so i was wondering how the hell i got these things and what it was i thought it was my falut n it freaked me out im glad theres more people out there to talk to bout this
Yes, this is what forums are all about. You can always learn more and what is even better understand that you are not the only one with the problem. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
i would really like to know how to get rid of them brcause i think it might ruin my life, with girls. please help me also hoe did they get there???
Look, the only thing that can ruin your life, especially with girls is yourself, and your attitude toward life.
In order to gain your self confidence, you need to learn. Sebaceous prominence doesn’t represent a disease, nor a skin mark or anything you should be ashamed of. It is, as I am sure you already read, a normal variant of a penis anatomy. These are actually visible sebaceous glands that can be found all over our bodies, they produce zits. In some men they are more visible, in others they are not visible at all. Once you have learned that and accepted it, you will have no problems with them. And if any of girls gets upset, you could try explaining what these are, and if they are still upset,….who cares….there’s a plenty fish in the see.
Sometimes, they can be squeezed like a zit but this is not advisable to do. It may hurt and they can get infected.
Once again, forget about them, it is anything abnormal, there is no treatment to get rid of them, so the only thing left is to accept them.

Good day Jhoppy16,
I suspect that they are a result of the genitals coming into contact with a petroleum based lubricant on a regular basis. A petroleum or oil based lubricant would include Vaseline or Baby oil and the like. I think that the gland absorbs the oil and over time they become swollen and are then easily noticed thru the thin skin. Is this the case with you? Have you used an oil based lubricant? Anybody else?

I've come to learn that (most) girls really aren't all that picky about penises. Sizes, bumps, whatever, as long as it's not an STD, I don't think they really care. Don't let it get to you. I have this major self-confidence/esteem issue with my foreskin, there's not too many guys around where I live who have foreskins, and I thought it'd affect what girls thought about me. Now I have a girlfriend who I'm very happy with and know could care less about my foreskin. My point is, don't let it get to you, I have little bumps too, I don't even notice them anymore.
I use baby oil for masturbation and sometimes during sex with my girlfriend and I do have sebaceous prominence. However, I have never thought of a link between these two. I found photos online, it was sebaceous prominence, and I read it was a normal anatomical variant and that I have nothing to worry about. My girlfriend didn’t mind them once I explained, so I thought it was nothing I should get upset although I could leave without them.
Once I ran into an information that it is actually possible to shrink the glands by certain drugs, so that these glands won’t be producing any more or that much sebum.
The drug is called Accutane and is used when I person has severe acne. I heard it was very potent and can be dangerous as it causes severe side effects. I also believe it is a prescription drug. When I read all the possible side effects, I decided to pass.
What did you have in mind?

First let's take a look at the phrase "normal anatomical variant" it's contradictory, something cannot be normal yet at the same time vary. I can't stand when these so called dermatologist say "oh it's just normal, you have nothing to worry about". If it were normal then everybody would have it and we wouldn't have forums with people trying to find out wtf is wrong with their genitalia. They just say it's normal because they don't know the cause of it. And sure, there might not be anything to worry about health wise physically, as it is not a disease, but there certainly is a psychological impact. So let's look at the cause, as I speculated in my previous post it may have to do with the use of a petroleum based lubricant. Yes petroleum, the same stuff we get our gas and oil from. It must be entering into the gland and not being released, or perhaps infecting the gland in some way. If oil retention is the case, and discontinuation of the lubricant does not result in a correction of the condition, then we need something that will get in there and dissolve or displace the oil. There are all sorts of skin creams and lotions that can be tested. I was thinking along the lines of astringents, benzoil peroxide, salicylic acid or perhaps dmso. I read in one forum where someone had results with hydrocortisone. I do not know what works and what doesn't but it is time to start testing for a home remedy. In the mean time I would like to recommend the use of a water based lubricant such as K-Y or Astroglide.
I think that was a wise decision not to take Accutane. We do not achieve health by ingesting synthetic drugs, they only serve to mask symptoms while at the same time creating serious conditions of their own, sometimes worse than the symptom that they were made to treat. Notice the use of the word treat not cure.

Just want to say I agree with Scooby, very smart. Makes sense to me cause I got them when I was around 12-13 and was stupidly using vasoline... and I also have sensitive skin too which didn't help. This may sound dumb but what if you used a small needle to inject a NATURAL. grease cutter(detergent) into each, I wonder if that would get rid of them. I'm not going to try it just yet, and if you do be CAREFUL!
PS let me know if it worked. ;-) :-D

Scooby Doo has got it all RIGHT!
Dermatologists need to think more along the lines of helping
and just because there isn't a "medical cure" for it doesn't mean
they should not f*****g help.
I think Salycylic acid and Astringent would work, and i think i may have to
test it out. I feel bad that we have to have this. And i feel like its something very small that can fix it. So i'll have to try and get back to you all.
But yeah, i suppose talking to your partners would make them feel better
about it, but there are going to be some who think its an STD no matter what you say or show them. So i'd rather just be done with these pimple gland things.
I think they should be treated as pimples and i do agree with scooby it might just be trapped oil, have never used lube during sex.. so maybe it
could be natural body oils gone haywire? who knows...
but anyway im happy there are forums out there and im happy that
others are going through the same things and are willing to talk about it
later

well ppl , from what i understand there swollen sweat glands that form around little hairs that my be seen or not, ive heard that somthing called retin a micro a cream for acne and wrinkles can shrink them by up to 90 percent with constant use, as for a cure, co2 laser surgery for hair removal is the only thing ive heard of, now i have no proof and i know that most doctors dont like to operate on suck a tender skin area but if you have the cash id do it up, plus picking or popping only makes them more larger temporarorly, but trust me mine are pretty bad and i am very insecure about them , but i dont let it stop me from getting around, just avoid blow jobs from sober chicks.
Yeah mine first appeared after contact with a flavored warming massage oil. I used it in masterbation and thses bumbs appeared immediately after the second time. Ive treated them as pimples and applied rubbing alcohol/noxema; they appear less noticeable but needs applications everyday. The bumps have never dissappeared
