I had a lump on the left testicle, so i went to the doctor, and he arranged for me to have a testes ultrasound scan. I went for the scan and they scanned the testes, but then after testes were done, the lady asked me to lean over a bit so she could get a kidney scan also. I thought "huh?!?" when she asked it. It was just the left kidney she scanned
Anyone got any answers on why they would scan the kidneys? is it just so that if the doctor diagnosed infection/cancer, he could see if it has spread to kidneys? but doesn't make sense.

I have had the exact same experience just today where once completed the testes US they then performed a US of both my kidneys, when I asked why as this was indeed unexpected and a little concerning, the Doctor said it was because I had dilated blood vessels with fluid, so he had to check my kidneys.That test involved taking a deep breath and holding for some time, not sure if you had to do the same.Although it doesn't completely put my mind at rest I am now having to await the report being sent to the doctor, he did say for me not to worry but he didn't elaborate any further, hope this helps..

this has happened to me I have had the appoitment through for my son and it includes a kidney scan.....What was your results??
It is because the testes blood supply comes directly from the renal arteries, so if there is anything of concern in the testes, the kidneys are always scanned as well because the problem can actually be coming from the kidneys.
