It has been five or six weeks since I first felt the sharp pain in my lower right abdomen immediately after two shots of liquor. I've had blood tests and an ultrasound, both of which found nothing. Tomorrow I have a colonoscopy. The pain has subsided to the degree that it is no longer acute, but present as a slight discomfort that can still turn into real pain if I put pressure on it by lying on that side or leaning awkwardly (or eat/drink the wrong thing). I have not had a drink of alcohol since the pain started, and I may never drink again. I have also changes my entire diet to include lots of fresh vegetables and fruits daily, whole grains, beans. I have also started taking a multivitamin and a calcium supplement. I have not treated my body this well probably ever, and in fact have lost 20 pounds almost instantly, but the discomfort/pain is still there even now, a month and a half later, and this terrifies me. i pray you are right, that it is essentially bruising that needs time to heal, because it is taking a really long time, which makes me wonder if it is something that can be healed by time at all or whether it is something terrible the doctors just can't find. It is hard having no real closure, having doctors keep telling you, "we don't know what it is, but you probably shouldn't worry about it." But not knowing what it is is what makes me worry the most!
