I have been experiencing intense upper mid stomach cramps and pain for four days now. The pain is intense but short lived, and radiates right through to my back. I have also been feeling slightly nauseous. The pain seems to come on worst when i start to eat - even before ive swallowed. Its like having a contraction in labour almost! Ive also been burping quite a lot, but have no diorhea or vomiting. The pains and cramps also come on at night, from about 4am onwards. Today the cramps have gone, but the dull ache remains, and is stronger if i move around a lot. Any ideas? Could this be a digestion thing? Gallbladder problems? Please help - i cant get an appointment at the docs til next friday.
Hi! All your symptoms resemble gallstone attack. I can’t confirm this, only doctor can but gallstones are likely to strike at night, as well as after a fatty meal. They (or it) will make you nauseous, burp, swell, gassy.
Until you see your doctor I would advise you to eat only low fat foods, nothing fried, and spicy only cooked. Get rid of caffeine and cigarettes until you see your doctor and see what is going on. If you continue to eat the bad stuff, you will suffer from an attack all over again. I am sure you would want to avoid that.
If you develop symptoms like sweating, chills, fever, yellow skin or white eyes, you should go to the ER.
