Hi, I will have to do an ureteroscopy the day after tomorrow, because I have a stone stuck in my ureter. I have to admit it scares me a lot when I thing about the way it’s done. Please, give me some more information about ureteroscopy to know what to expect.
Hello, last month I felt a pain like never before in my life. It was horrible! Apparently, the stone from my kidney started moving in the urinary tract, and it hurt terribly. I had a cramping pain in the back and side in the area of the kidney. I had to do an ureteroscopy. My pain was so bad, I didn’t think of the way it’s done, I just wanted to get over with it as soon as possible. I know it sounds very unpleasant when you hear what are they going to do to you, but it has to be done. An urologist passes a thin viewing instrument through your ureter, and pushes your stucked stone back to a kidney, where it can be broken easier. In other cases, the urologist removes the kidney stone using an instrument with a "basket" to grab the stone.
