Good afternoon,
For some basic information - I'm an 18.5 year old female. I've never had this result from sexual intercourse before, and am wondering if this might just be associated with the UTI:
I'm starting to worry a little bit. I had my period for about a week prior to having sex. During sex, I started bleeding again. Within a 12 hour time frame, the first time I bled a little bit, the second time I bled a lot, then the third time hardly at all, and the fourth time the bleeding was minimal as well. There was no pain associated at all. This was on December 10th.
A couple days after, I ended up with a UTI that I took cranberry pills for. I didn't take them as regularly as I should have, which prolonged the UTI. It had gotten better a little bit, then came back a few days ago. I've been regularly taking cranberry pills as prescribed and the infection seems to has become a little better.
For the past two or three days, I've had light pink discharge on and off while urinating and occasional small blood clots associated with small amounts of deep-red blood. Could this be associated with the UTI? Or is this a prolonged period (almost a month long?). Yesterday morning I woke up with a stomach ache and fever, but I believe the stomach ache was from something I had eaten and the fever is being controlled with dayquil.
Any insight on what could be going on? Thank you.

Hi Sarah,
UTI's are common in women after having sex. The stomach ache and fever can likely be attributed to a UTI.
Cranberry juice is great but sometimes you need a bit more than that. As the infection progresses it becomes harder to treat and the symptoms get worse. If you've been bleeding for almost a month, it is time to see a doctor.
Hope it helps.
