-regular period started out normal average cramping and flow
-severe pain for 4 days of period on the left side only (front to back) constant dull pain with intermittent stabbing pains
-dull aching (almost like a pulled muscle) pain in lower left side of back for 2 weeks prior
-then after pain stopped and a day of light flow
-3 days of heavy clumpy bleeding and almost watery bloody squirts (but no pain) felt like I was peeing myself, and I couldn't control it at all, just spilling out
-pain was gone until the Nurse Practitioner did the exam, now I am having cramping and stabbing pains again on the left side. And it feels like I was assaulted.
The NP prescribed an antibiotic and told me I had to come back in a week for a re-check, but she was incredibly rough and I asked to see a different NP for my follow-up.
Anyone ever experience anything like this? And what were you told it was?
I've been looking up Vaginal Cysts and can't find anything about them causing pain or rupturing, except for when by the vaginal opening and my pain is way up and to the side. Also, it says they are usually benign and not noticeable except during intercourse or when inserting tampons...neither of which I have noticed before. She told me also that there was nothing wrong with the cervix, and that if it were endometriosis it couldn't be diagnosed without surgery, that it was probably not a fibroid and that it wasn't an ovarian cyst because she could see where the cyst had ruptured in the vagina.
Side note* I had requested the actual physician in the office and there was a month and a half wait so I settled for the Nurse Practitioner so that in the event the excessive bleeding was an emergency I wouldn't be causing more harm by waiting. My main concern is that the diagnosis is inaccurate and the new pain that I'm experiencing is leading me to believe any rupture that may have happened a few days ago is just a first sign in things to come.
1. Get a container of Epsom Salts, a squirt bottle, a bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide!
2. Sit in a bath of hot water - as hot as you can stand - and pour 3 - 4 cups of Epsom Salts in! Just have enough water to cover your thighs. Let the vaginal area soak!
3. Once out of the bath, fill the bottle with about 2 tbsps of Hydrogen peroxide and the rest hot water! Then each time you go to the bath room squirt the bottle inside your vagina - NOT a douche - just the opening - to get rid of debris and to keep the pore cleaned!
NOW IF you start feeling shaky or run a fever I want you to be taken to the hospital IMMEDIATELY! This can mean that the puss has gone into your blood stream and caused a blood infection! so be careful! Wear a pad - as this can take awhile to heal! Keep it clean! And finish ALL the anitbiotics OK? Good luck and health honey!
I will fill the prescription and try the soaks and rinses as you suggested, because there definitely is something that feels off in a different way from the pain I was experiencing the other day and I would not want to get a secondary infection.
I don't know for certain that the pain I was experiencing originally had anything to do with the bleeding and the clots (about 2-4 TBSPs) at a time, other than the bleeding didn't start until after the pain went away.
The new pain I am experiencing after the exam is at the vagina opening and shooting straight up the core of my belly (like the cramping you would get after a more invasive procedure than a regular OB/GYN exam).
Hi, I had the same thing about 6 months back, I had the same pain where I ended crying myself to sleep every night I ended up taking myself to the ER where they did urine test, blood test and a few ultrasounds. Thats when they figured out my ovarian cyst had burst, I was straight into surgery after that where the cut the cyst off and they also removed my appendix just incase that got infected aswell. But your best option is to o straight to hospital I felt a lot better after the surgery.
Okay, So I am experiencing the same thing right now, but slightly different, hurts to pee, intercourse is too painful and I have a watery time of the month..Well can't be sure it's my time of the month as I only just finished it a week ago.. I have had Cysts in the past that almost ruptured my appendix which was removed in 2010... I am only young so kind of panicking right now... It is extremely painful at the base of the vagina, but also very painful on the left front to back..
Awww sweetheart. Your doctors a jerk get a new one! You seem to have had an ovarian cyst that ruptured. I have one too. If it's not a fibroid or endometriosis that's good news though. Mine hasn't ruptured may need surgery. I am telling you this info based on what was told to me in a good hospital here in Cleveland. University Medical Center (Case Western Reserve Medical Center) which is actually way bettter than Cleveland Clinic!
