I have this problem also and have had every test they can give me and it all comes back fine. It is definitely hormonal. I have fount that the pill regulated my hormones so the problem went away but I didn't want to have to use the pill indefinitely for the rest of my life, I am scared it may affect my fertility later (Im only 22) so I came off the pill and have found that taking cranberry tablets really help to regulate the high levels of candida my hormones produce near my cycle. About 2 weeks before my period I take the tablets daily up until my period starts and I am fine or at the most i have a faint itch for like a day or 2 but its nothing to write home about
Hope this helps, I thought i was alone but ive learnt many women have this problem. More doctors should be clued up on it so we dont feel so alone or helpless
i also have been having this problem for 6 years !!!!! doctors dont know what it is, got to the point i kinda have to deal with it, every single month 5-6 days before my period i get really bad irritation. gotten checked numerous times and never found anything, havenyt been on birth controll for 5 years. hoping to find a solution soon
My issue is just the same! I itch right up to my period EVERY month. I too have been to the dr many times and have gotten results of bv, yeast infection, and even a bacterial infection caused by ecoli!!! Antibiotics only made the itching worse because of the results they have on the immune system. I used to be on the mirena iud but had it removed a little over a year ago. I don't have any stds so I give!!! I'm just going with HORMONES...Best of luck ladies!!!
Its not birth control pills I just started with this problem about 6 months ago every month two weeks before period I have 6 children all natural birth and have no idea what is causing it but im sure its not birth control pills why do I say that cause ive never used the pill i have only used an iud as birth control and condoms i would really like to know what is causing it
I think it has to do with the amount of progesterone the coil releases. I have been on three different BCP's and the level/duration of the itching and burning has been in direct correlation with how much progesterone was in the product. I thought it was just that I'm sensitive to estrogen, but now that I've read this, it all makes sense...
Mirena only has progesterone in it, and that's what made me take a look at my own experience, causing me to realize that the itching gets worse at the end of the month, because the progesterone increases.
I have the same problem but not on bc pills
I'm 42 and have been having this problem as well ever since. I turned 40. Never been on BC. I am fit, drink a lot of lemon water, and take great care of myself. I really think it is just normal hormonal changes. I don't get crazy itchy, Id say about 2 or 3 on a scale of 1-10. It's weird that some women itch and some don't.
