Hey,

I've had a problem for a while now. I have a large vein on the top of my penis (so not the frenulum) which is visible both when flaccid and erect. The vein looks wider when my foreskin is over the head of my penis and doesn't really bother me too much. The problem occurs when I pull the foreskin back. The vein gets thinner, but seems to stop my foreskin from fully retracting and hurts when I do so and during sex. My foreskin almost retracts fully and looks normal except for this large blue vein on the top which creates a bump near the head.

I've had a look around and can't really find anyone with the same issue, so I'm wondering whether this is normal or whether I should get it seen to.

Thanks

Hi. I take it that you mean the vein is on the glands of your penis and not the actual foreskin?

It's on the shaft of the penis, under the foreskin and ends close to the glans, which is why I can't retract properly

Most guys have a largish vein that runs from near the base of the shaft up to the foreskin even I do but mine only shows when I'm erect but doesn't cause me any problems retracting my foreskin back.
When you pull your foreskin back can you get it right back so it will sit behind the corona? Where is it that it actually hurts?

Yes, it retracts right back to there, but it's not comfortable. The vein kind of sticks out from under the skin close to there. When checking images and diagrams of other retracted foreskins, there seems to be little to no vein near the corona, whereas on mine, it's right there.

As with every part of our bodies they are all different so what you have someone else doesn't and vice verser if it's the vein causing you pain though then you should go and see the doctor about it.
If he happens to mention that circumcision though as an option then ask if there is any other option.

Hmm right, okay. I was hoping a trip to the doctor wouldn't be needed, but it's been bothering me for a while so I'd rather do that than nothing. Thanks for the help

If it was just the vein causing bother then I would of said it's nothing but seeing you say it's painful it's best to get checked out.
Hope all turns out ok and if you wouldn't mind can you post what the doctor says is causing it as it may help others.

I'll try to do so if I remember, but I think it will be a while before I can find time to make an appointment. Again, thanks for the help!
