All these young smokers with terrible throats? Seriously - do your selves a favor and call the quit line. You're too young to be living with addiction and suffering the consequences. Do your throat and lungs a solid and kick the habit, I have a feeling more than your throats will improve.

Im so glad im not the only one that has gone through this pain ! I am exactly the same , i came across this while looking what i could do to help , Im 17 and a non-smoker , I've had this for about 4 days now but it just seems to be getting worse everyday morning i wake up ( not that have had much sleep during the night because of the pain). It is only on my left side but it killing me ! I cant eat , drink , sleep , talk . When i do try and swallow i have to tense my whole body because of the pain ! I went to the doctors and they just told me to drink lots of fluids and take pain killers , which really annoyed me cos' it hasnt helped one bit , It not p***y but is extremly red , Im also feeling sick and fainty because of it and am getting shooting pains in my ear . Im getting sooo frustrated , HELP :cry: ?!

I have the samew thing going on with my throat as everyone has described above. the pian is mainly on the left side of my throat, and it killls to swallow. i am honestly relieved i am not the only one dealing with this annoying problem. i am freaking myself out everyday thinnking i have some kind of throat cancer because i do smoke. i am 18 years old and have only smoked for about 3 years, not even a pack a day. it hurts to swallow somtimes, and it also has given me a tiny pain in my left ear. I honestly cant take this pain for much longer, and really need some answers. %-) :-( the pain is not always there, when i wake up my throat seems to be okay, but as the day progresses, it starts to hurt more and more. the pain started a little while back, when i developed a cold. i still smoked while i was sick, but then this pain in my throat started to really bother me, and practiclly forced me to stop. I am severly worried, if any one can help me , pleaseeee give me some answers!!!! Thanks

I just read this and i have the same problem myself.. All of the sudden when i was drinking a pepsi i found it hard to swallow and only 1 hour later my throat was killing me, after reading this information on the URL provided i found out that the cause could be a viral or bacterial infection, all of my symptoms were listed on this website, i cant hardly swallow and when i do it hurts really bad, I am 19 years old and ive smoked for two years but i doubt any of this has to do with smoking considering there are non-smokers who have the same problem, im going to go see a doctor tommorow if my symptoms persist, good luck to you all and god bless

Im 13 years old and dont smoke but some of my brothers do. I've been sick for four days and it's gotten worse every day. On the first day it started out like a fever. Then the second day my fever went away but, i got this a really bad sore thought. And it's been like that ever since. Oh ya, i dont preform oral sex. Plus I don't have insurance until the end of the month so if anyone finds out what it is please tell me.

I'm 18. Started off with a slight sore throat, and then I got on an airplane home. Since then my throat has been KILLING me... can't sleep at night, can't swallow, sometimes I'm scared I won't be able to breath. It started off on the right side, and now its only the left side....

I have all the same symptoms you all are talking about. I went to the doc today and it is strep throat. The doc was very concerned because of how swollen I was and how much pain I was in. She gave me pain medicine, an antibiotic, a steroid, and a mouth rinse that makes your throat numb so you can actually eat and drink. I feel better already and I have only had one treatment of each medicine. Go to the doctor asap, because my doctor said it can spread to your heart and get in your blood stream. It's the most painful strep I have ever had!!

I have the same symptoms. I'm 14, and since yesterday I feel the urge to swallow all the time. When I swallow it hurts worse than any pain I'v ever felt. It hurts a little when i'm not swallowing. It also hurts to eat and drink really bad. I keep spitting in a cup to keep from swallowing and I can't talk. Please help me.

I found this looking for a way to relieve pain, I'm going to just bullet point my symptoms.
- Fatigue
- Left side of my throat is SO EFFING SORE. Every time I swallow I have to cringe and try not to cry.
- Eating, drinking and talking hurt.
- Opening my mouth more than just a little hurts.
- Runny/Stuff nose
- I don't think I've ever generated this much saliva in my entire life. Which sucks because swallowing HURTS.
- I'm pretty sure its the tonsil on that side of something, its swollen.
- It only hurts right behind my tongue on the left side.
- My dad looked at my throat and said it was really red.
I've tried Nyquil, which only helps for helping me sleep so I don't wake up crying in pain. I've taken Theraflu, which hasn't helped at all. Tylenol? No help. Tea or soup doesn't help much either, neither do cold drinks or popsicles. I'm running out of options, I can't stop crying because it just hurts. I've missed four days of school already, and I can't miss anymore. But, I spent one day in school with it and I almost had a break down.
Please, please, somebody tell me something to make it stop hurting?

im 26 and i have such as sore throat, over the past 4 days i've had several symptoms: fever, headache, runny nose, im producing pint of saliva each day but worst is my throat. my glands feel swollen and my tongue is kind of white, it hurts to swallow at all and nothing seems to help, i've tried paracetamol based remedies, antiseptic lozenges, chloraseptic throat spray, even cough medicine! im fed up with it now as im just in constant pain, i'm booked in to see the doctor later today, i really hope he gives me something that will help. i've barely eaten anything over the last week and i've probably slept for about 6 hours over the last 4 nights? i really cant take anymore. i hope someone knows something that will help?? thanks all
