I have the exact same situation going on althought I'm twice your age the detention your giving describes my situation perfect. Not sure if you said your condition was on the right or left of your throat but I have the exact same symptoms. If you found out what your problem was and just send an idea my way it would e greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of heading to the doctor but I'd like to handle it myself if possible. Thanks JT

First, smoking isn't the best thing to do if it hurts. It actually will make it worse.(Fathers Experience.) That will cause inflammation in your lungs, and will cause your throat to burn like fire. If you have pain in the ears when you move, swallow, or sneeze. Its probably an ear infection. I need to go check on mine. Even if the smoke is tempting. Try to refuse it, because it will make your days with the problem be a living hell.

I have a extremely sore throat. It hurt so much to swallow. I'm 15 and I went to the doctor and he tested me for strep but never gave me the results. When I look at the back of my throat is looks as if my throat is being torn apart. I don't know how much pain I can take. Any ideas on how to help?!?

I am having the same problem..first off I'm 15 years old and I don't smoke or any of that. I first started feeling very fatigued and sore on my body. Then horrible pressure on the back of my head and through my ears and throat. This is day 4 and I can barely sleep 2 hours without my throat killing me. It's so painful. I tested negative for strep, and I don't have tonsils so I don't know what this is. I am on my last like 7 days of school until summer and I seriously cannot take this awful pain much longer.

I'm currently suffering from something similar.
I'm 19. My throat is swollen and tense, when I swallow it feel like I'm swallowing nails. Often when I eat /drink I just have to stop because it's so painful that I just start crying.
I also feel exhausted, feel really cold (shivering under a blanket when it's 23 degrees C), a very painful sting in my ears, and a headache that sometimes 'throbes' for a second and make me yell in pain.
I do NOT have a cough, at all.
Half the time I just lie in bed and can't sleep because of it. Eventually I get so tired and sick of the pain that I just cry until I get so tired I fall asleep.
To make it even worse, I had the same thing 2 months ago. And it stayed around for over 2 weeks, after which I was prescribed anti-biotics, codeine, paracetamol and Panadol so I was high and asleep most of the time and eventually it went away at some point.
When I went to the doctors, I got tested for the usual suspects (STIs, strep, glandular fever, etc). All came back negative.
I have Grave's Disease (I think I'm very young to have it). But all my bloods (T3, T4, TSH) were completely normal.
I think my condition weakens my immune system which may be why I get severe and painful sicknesses so often. But I've never had anything this painful, until 2 months ago.
My doctor said she would've guessed tonsillitis, but I don't have tonsils (removed when I was ~6 due to multiple encounters with quite bad tonsilitis). We tested it anyway (since it is techniquly possible), and it was Negative as well.
Still don't know what it is. My doctor decided it was probably an upper respiratory infection, but that's pretty vague. And I've had those before, no where near this level of pain.
I am a bit concerned that I've got the same/very similar sickness again. But we couldn't find anything last time, so I doubt we will this time.
So I'm just gonna use my left over pain killers, and hopefully it I'll go away soon.
To anyone reading this searching for an answer, go see you doctor, especially after its persisted for over 3-4 days.
It's difficult to assess symptoms that are in writing.
I hope you get answers and feel better!

So I have had the same symptoms for 4 days now, I went to the dr today and he diagnosed me with "Peritonsillar Abscess". Apparently, it results when a sore filled with pus forms near the tonsils. It’s usually a complication of tonsillitis. The symptoms can seem very similar to those of strep throat or tonsillitis.
My dr gave me antibiotic injections and pills that will hopefully make me feel better, I took the first injection and I already feel better.
This is the prescription:
I should take an 'Axon 1 gm' injection 3 days in a row. On the third day, I start my antibiotics pills course of 'Sefarin 300 gm'.
He also gave me a Betadine mouthwash/gargle and Voltfast 50mg for pain relief.
I hope this helps.
I'm female, 26, never smoked in my life.

First of all I'm a 15 year old male and yeah I have smoked about 4 times some Newport cigarettes, I know I shouldn't have but it was a while ago and ranting about it isn't going to change a thing.
So I have had a painful throat when I swallowed or if anything made contact with the back of my throat for about 4 days and the 3rd was the worst. There was this burning sensation but that must've been because I was determined to eat a sandwich *I finished it if you guys wanted to know* But anyways I would only write on here and take my time if I was feeling better, which I am. As I was saying it would hurt to swallow even my own saliva which was the worst because I was produce more than normal the usual amount of saliva that was kinda slimy. I would spit it in a cup but that would just make my throat dry so I I couldn't do that any longer. After deciding that if I would wake up to this I would go to the doctors, I did. They gave me a pill that I didn't hear what the nurse said it was for but I don't care they know what they're doing, and a liquid that claimed to numb my mouth, I had to gargle, swoosh around and yeah. At first it was very disturbing as I felt that something was holding down my saliva from passing. As time went on my pain was relieved and I can now swallow without any pain.
What I was able to eat with the pain :
The only thing that was very durable - Buttered Spaghetti * It felt the same as swallowing my own saliva*
Cereal - I would have to wait for it to get soggy though, kinda odd but you know I didn't want to starve. The milk calmed the burning sensation.
-I also read online that Marshmallows can help with your sore throat so if you don't want to go to the doctors or you can't you should try it. I'm not sure that it will hurt or not as I haven't had it myself but yeah.
DON'T
Do not guys and I mean do not eat anything hard, scratchy things like a sandwich because after I did I woke up to some blood tasting saliva .
I decided to write this because school is over and I don't want my writing to get terrible. Lmao
Alright so I hope you guys feel better and try not to starve yourself to death and eat at least what I said above.

Two days later with taking the medicine, showing some sign of improvement, the left side no longer hurts but it's all on this bitchy right side that is giving me a small pain. I'm thinking that after this day of taking the liquid every two hours I should be good for tomorrow but if anything I'll let you guys know. It's been going on for 6 days already.

Last update ? Alright so nothing is really hurting that badly, I can feel it a tiny bit when I yawn but I have been able to eat well with lately. Tomorrow should be one for sure. The only product I have been usually is Chloraseptic Sore throat cherry flavor so yeah I would recommend you to get that if you're feeling the way I have felt but anyways I hope you guys feel better as I have :^)
