I think I know what it is, it's a 'boil.' I had that once on my inner thigh, very painful. What I did was put a burning hot, wet washrag on it and kept heating up the washrag as hot as I could stand it. I did this for about 20 minutes. When I woke up the next day, the boil was gone but there was a bunch of white stuff on my pajamas. Sounds gross, I know, but just trying to help you out.

I'm 35 - Been with the same partner for 15 years now. I had this same issue over and over again for years. I found the solution in using Anti-Bacterial soap on the commonly affected area of my body and this stopped it from ever reoccurring. Most bath soap IS NOT anti-bacterial FYI! I use Safeguard. About 3 months ago I got lazy and ran out, used by wife's girly soap for about a month and ended up getting one again.

So I hope this helps someone. I'm so glad I found this as the solution cause they are horrible.

I have had cystic acne almost constantly for the last 8 years. Its horrible, it hurts and I am a picker. They hurt so badly, I first had them on my bottom then between my breasts, now on my underarms and pubic area. I have so many right now I wish someone would find a solution.

fyi...this is common and not talked about! IT IS NOT AN STD...but you should get regularly checked anyways.

I have no idea how to express how absolutely RELIEVED I am that this seems to be fairly common! I've gotten them once in a blue moon since I was about 12 and I've always freaked out and after a day or two of worrying I always ended up squeezing it and, like everyone else has pretty much said, puss comes out, then puss mixed with blood, then dark blood, and within a week it normally heals up as long as I continue to squeeze all of the fluid out. So I'm guessing it's safe for me to just think it's basically a cyst or an infected ingrown hair or whatever?

19 people have seen my post, it's nice to know that not one of them can/will help me out...

your bump is an ingrown hair, its not unusual and girls get them all the time.... nothing to worry about. cutting the hair with scissors will make it worse as it blunts to end of the hair.

Same thing happened to me and I am a girl. It is right on my bikini line and it's ugly. When i went to the doctor (it wasn't a dermatologist) she just said that it was because of when I walk, my underwear rubs against it. I've had it for like a year now and I'm scared to go to a dermatologist to find out what it actually is. Also, clear, white, and orange (Ithink it was mixed with blood) puss came out, and blood.

Yeh i've had cystic acne like that for about 3 years now I'm 19. Had them everywhere, back, neck, chest occasionally, face, ass, pubic area. Pubic area is the worst, because one of the only ways to get rid of cysts for good is to inject them with numbing fluid and lance them i.e let them drain or scrape them out with a tool primarily to get the "sack" out. Had 4 injections around my pubic area, one of the most painful things ever. I've probably had over 100 injections in the last six months for this, and my spots don't even look that bad just scars. I can assure you not all of them are down to ingrown hairs because i have some in areas where that isn't physically possible to whoever said that is wrong lol. If it's not cysts and it's acne, take accutane. Period. literally worked wonders for me. Im a really attractive guy but i hide these things like crazy so who knows who else does. they are very painful and very obvious, can be very depressing. Just contact your doctor and see what he says, i would really recommend getting the sack out by numbing injection and all that, it usually does not come back and it doesn't really leave a scar. It does however leave a scar if they put you under, i.e use a blade and cut the thing out. Only do that if you have to. Good luck!! I'm honestly just waiting to hopefully grow out of it, i feel all you guys pain, it is one of the biggest burdens i have. Good luck guys! i know it hurts just do the best you can that's what I've done for the past three years

I get big lumps in bikini area that are painful. I've popped them with needles to relieve the pain too. What they really are, are furuncle (boil). My doctor told me to use germicide soap and it works! If I don't use the right soap they come back.

I am diabetic girl, I had that once before it grew big like a golfball it hurt tremendously! Could not walk sit or lay it was right between my pubic area and my thigh bone. I went to the doctor obgyn and they told me it was normal for diabetics and prescribed antibiotics however I still suffered from the pain another 4 days. They told me also to put a clean cloth with warm water on it and that was what actually helped as soon as it popped I felt instant releif from the pain. Now it's the second time I started to have one and I started putting warm water cloth on it as soon as I felt it it did not get as big before it popped it was only about the size of a dime, tiny compared to a golfball! I joked with my husband told him I was growing a testicle the first time!

I'm REALLY glad to know this has happened to other people too and that it' not a big deal. I had a large (slightly bigger than a quarter in diameter) raised lump about a half inch above the base of my penis that got harder and harder every day and became more irritated looking every day. It got to the point where my boxers and pants with a belt on top of it hurt too much and I couldn't make it through the day without going crazy. It finally developed a small white head so I put a needle over a flame to disinfect it then popped it and, like others, a bunch of puss and blood came out and it finally went away after a week or two of healing. Popping it was such a relief because I was starting to get worried without any head developing to tell me it was a spider bite / some kind of pimple / ingrown hair. I still don't know what it was, though..
