I had the same thing happen but without the Zoloft. Dabbed THC concentrate everyday for years, and then one day started to get panic attacks from the dabs, and now just a little bud gets me VERY high. What happened?

I have really similar symptoms just completely out of it anywhere like your consiousness is half way gone. Do you know why yet ?

I've been on Zoloft for about 2 weeks. I take half of the 50 mg a day. I smoked about 3 days ago and my sense of touch has been off ever since. I smoke about twice a month however I smoked the week before that and I was just fine. Other than my weird sense of touch the high was fine.

I think what happened to me was I had very low blood sugar when I smoked. It caused the shakes since THC lowers your blood sugar also. My blood sugar was low because when I first began zoloft, my appetite went to zero.

You seem to have absorbed a bit of information you don't fully understand.
Venlafaxine isn't an "ingredient found in most antidepressants" it's a specific drug (an SNRI). Zoloft is sertraline (an SSRI), Effexor is venlafaxine. Also, "causes your brain to overload with serotonin reuptake agonists" is a borderline nonsensical statement.
It seems far more likely that you got anxious because you already suffer from anxiety, and were doing something dumb and reckless like driving while high, which frankly should make you nervous.

This is possible. I also had these symptoms when I started smoking too much and when I quit smoking. Bad withdrawal.

I just had the same experience you did. I recently started my Zoloft again for anxiety. I decided to try an edible and I only took half. I don’t know if the Zoloft made it deferent this time but I all of a sudden my left arm went numb then traveled to my whole body. I stood up and felt a whole bunch on different feelings. I was totally numb my body and face and my mouth went completely dry. I kept telling my husband to call 911 and everything seemed to be taking forever. I got to the hospital where they were very rude to me and I felt like they weren’t in a hurry to do anything to me. I keep panicking more which didn’t help things either. Worst experience of my life.

What's misinformation is telling people they're fine and it's no big deal because its just weed and hasnt happened to you. No one is saying it's the weed by itself. It's the SSRI. People are different but any SSRI has the potential to cause it. I've smoked about every day for 8 years and been prescribed tramadol although I didn't use it much. Well 2 weeks ago that changed when I found a bunch I never took, and took the tramadol for a week straight while I was without weed. After that week, when I was still taking tram and could get weed again, I took 3 average sized rips for me and my heart beat out of my chest. At least 150 bpm. Instead of the normal nice buzz I felt like I was having a panic attack. Like I've seen so many people say, I accepted I was going to die. I was cold. I had tremors. I thought it was a panic attack. I imagine they could be similar. I sat down next to my brother and said if something happens call an ambulance right away. I just knew I was close to...something terrible. Symptoms died down after 90 min or so but I could still feel my heart wasn't right. I stopped the tramadol and realized I had a real problem a few days later when I smoked a pea sized rip and it all started over again. Heart rate died down again but I have lasting effects of slight tremors, high bp, maybe slight confusuion or memory loss, light sensitivity. Went to the doc and guess what, I have f*****g Seratonin syndrome. My point is, yes it can happen, even if you've just started, or taken it your whole life, and it's serious enough that you should consider stopping everything immediately if you ever have unusual symptoms. If you're an every day smoker it is not a panic attack. It's pretty much scared me straight. I refuse to die bc of freaking tramadol the worse drug ive ever taken anyway. Been 2 weeks without anything, still the same lasting symptoms, although I will try smoking again in a month or so. But the fact that I've given up my favorite daily substance (weed), one I never saw myself stopping, cold turkey because of this should say something. Don't mess around with it. Talk to a doc if you can or continue to research it, but don't think that it only happens to rooks or addicts or whatever.

Hi, I also had this exact situation with Zoloft and weed. Scary as sh*t!!!!!

thank you. people keep saying that "there's no evidence there's any interaction," just because there's not evidence doesn't mean it doesn't happen. especially since there haven't been many studies on this type of thing, we've all got different chemistry and this is a hard thing to study.

i've been a mostly daily smoker for a couple years. no issues, a couple bad trips here and there, but nothing i couldn't talk myself out of.

i just started sertraline (for both anxiety and depression) exactly one week ago. took 25mg for 4 days. smoked weed all those days, no issues. upped it to 50mg (as ordered by my dr.) on day five, smoked weed, no issues.

then day six. took another 50mg and smoked a small amount of weed. felt fine until around 4am and started to get a headache, light sensitivity, auras, so i went to bed thinking i was getting a migraine. for the record migraines aren't common for me, i've had like 2 my whole life and they were nowhere near this severe. also i was getting mild headaches and nausea on lower doses around 12 hours after taking 25mg, which is about the same amount of time after taking 50mg that the migraine started. this was also hours after i smoked, i was no longer high (and wasn't very high to begin with.)

as soon as i'm in bed the migraine sets in full force, i was shaky and hot/cold every other second. my heart was beating fast. i'm certain i had a fever but couldn't pull myself out of bed to check. i could only pull myself up to go vomit 3 times in a row. when i got back i was extremely restless/irritable and started tossing and turning constantly. at this point i'm just squirming and literally groaning/yelling with pain. i somehow fell asleep, woke up feeling worse around 7am. i almost considered asking my mom to stay home from work and take me to the hospital.

this may not have sounded that bad but honestly it was like a migraine times 5. i somehow fell asleep again and woke up around noon feeling drained, exhausted, off-balance, but otherwise completely fine. i skipped today's dose and am going back to 25mg for a few days. terrified it will happen again when i try to up back up to 50mg.

pretty sure smoking heavily for a week then starting sertraline/upping my dose put my seratonin levels over the top. i doubt this is considered "sertraline syndrome," but if this is just a normal side effect that's even worse imo. i never want it to happen again regardless. it's the sickest i've ever been and this sh!t (sertraline) better be worth it for me to give up the one thing (weed) that's kept me from wanting to end it for the past 5 years.

You were on beta blockers too though...weed can fluctuate your blood pressure and heart rate. I think it was more the beta blocker, than the zoloft.

I recently switched from Effexor venflafaxine to Zoloft and I've been a regular smoker for awhile. I'm not entirely sure if it's all to blame on the antidepressants but I once blacked out and fell over when I tried to walk. More recently however, after the switch to Zoloft, I had a seizure while cooking macaroni and stuck my hand straight into the boiling water. My friend said that I turned to him and said 'help' before laughing which my dad confirms. This scared me really badly to say the least. I fell to the ground after and I don't remember any of it.
