I had my ablation exactly a year ago and have gained 14 lbs and have had swelling, bloating, and pain in my abdomen which until now I thought was intestinal. I haven't had a period since the ablation...until a few days ago when brown blood gushed out of me as if I peed myself. I was out with a long black coat and escaped to go home and clean - thank goodness it's winter. Could have been worse. My doctor said it is just old blood that's trapped and trying to get out (doesn't help me). Now, I'm wondering if the weight gain, pain and blocked blood is related (oh, and increased anxiety and depression )

I had lost 35 pounds or so before I had the Novasure procedure 4 years ago. Within 6 months, I had gained 30 back, and since then I've gained & lost the same 5-10 pounds over & over again, despite doing the exact same things I did to lose the 35 pounds in the first place

I had the surgery in March of 2014 and gained 40+ lbs. The only successful way I have found to lose the weight is rigidly following the 20 skinny rules from The Biggest Loser. I wish you all success!!

I have done some research and realised the ablation does exactly what menopause does. it alters your hormone levels. I went straight into pre-menopause after the ablation and also gained 24 kg (approx. 52 lbs.) over a period of six years, it is horrible. i learned a lot from the e-book: Menopause Manna. as our bodies prepare for a lower metabolic rate we have to adjust our eating habits, not only that but be very aware of what you eat. be careful of any refined and processed foods. the only way i manage to loose weight is to go on a very rigid healthy eating plan and still the weight fluctuate depends on how strict i am, this is torture and in general i do eat very healthy. Please if any dr. out there are reading all our stories, please we need some positive feedback and more advise. thank you

Hi, I am in the exact same boat as you. I have 3 kids and weighed 127 before surgery. Two weeks later I weight 140. My pants are too tight and I'm craving things that I didn't eat or drink before. It's really messing with my self esteem and I just want to know why this happens to us.

Hi
I am very concerned too. I was very skinny before my ablation but since I had it done 3 yrs ago I have bloated around my stomach and gained 42lbs, not eaten differently and not changed my daily activities. I feel very uncomfortable and desperate. It seems that weight gain following this procedure is very common!

I am sad and happy at the same to see that other woman are having this problem too. I gained 35 pounds and struggle to loose even a pound unless I stay at 1200 healthy calories or less a day. It is like changed one problem for another. I am active and I eat right, but unless I am VERY restrictive in what I eat I gain weight. I had the procedure 3 years ago and still can't get the weight off. I am now 46 and have to watch my BMI like crazy. Lately I have also been get headaches :(
