I been off of it since January to try and have a baby. I have gained about 5 pounds with it. It's giving me horrible anxiety due to the fact I been recovering from an eating disorder since 2013 this is triggering me so bad I have started towing up meals again how bad my anxiety is. I'll never use this again . I hate that every day I want to starve my self

I've been using the NR for three years and the last past year I gain 20 pounds and I can't lose it, I tried dieting and exercise, so I'm no longer using it for the past three weeks and I feel a lot better.

Hello, I know these posts are pretty old so i'm not sure who will read this. I recently went to my doctor as I was feeling all of these sympotms mentioned below, once I got off the nuva ring. I had missed my period, took pregnancy tests (negative) Thought i was loosing my mind. My moods were so up and down, I bloat all the time, felt like I was gaining a ton of weight and had pelvic pain. I recently couldn't sleep. My doctor clinically diagnosed me with PCOS- Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. 1 in 20 women have it and birth control actually helps regulate it. So when you get off- these horrible things rear thier heads.

Your body may be creating too much insulin and causing more belly fat, and too much testosterone that can cause menstural issues, infertility and abnormal hair growth on the body, but hair falling out in the head.

LOW carb and LOW sugar diet will help, 60-75 grams of carbs a day and excersizing 5 times a day for at least 30 min. Get your hormones tested, your blood sugar levels tested and FFH. You might be interested in what you find out. Just a thought and hopefully some good news and clarity to this matching issue. Love to all.

Hi there, I've been off Nuva ring for 2 months now and have experienced the same thing! Up ten lbs and dieting, exercising more than I ever had in life ! Please tell me this is only temporary. Did you end up losing the weight after you stopped the ring and if so how long did it take ? Feeling so defeated !

Worst thing you can do is that! Just stay strong and eat super healthy low carb low sugar and 8 small meals a day. Maybe try bikram yoga- it helps with your stress and anxiety. Don't let your mind get to you! Much love.

I was on nuva ring for 3 1/2 years after a year I started gaining weight didnt link it to the ring til recently. About two n half yesrs ago I became horriblely sick pretty much everything I ate made me sick. I narrowed it down to beef anything to do with cow. I went to doctors everything was normal. Yet I wasnt eating much because what I normally ate was making me sick yad think I would get sickly skinny nope complete opposite. I packed on the weight. So late this winter I was no longer sexually active hadnt be for while by choice . I decided I want to be normal n have periods. I stopped it in January i just had my first period the beginning of this month. Mind you I went on this to help hormonal imbalance and to help period less pain and following helped neither. Pregnancy was just a bouns. Since the week before I had my period ive not been sick, and I eat normally now whatever I want. It was hard being a beef farmer n couldn't eat it . Chocolate milk is my new favorite it was a craving I had while on my period n it stuck. So no I don't recommend this when I first got on it it made me sick they day i was gonna stop it everything disappeared so i remained on it. It's convenient but after everything ive exspreinced no not good choice no one ever thought to poiint at bc for either of my issues. I'm back to old fashioned bc keeping track of my days n currently not doing anything to get into trouble. Which is what I recommend to everyone. Its not worth side effects. I would like to know how to loose the weight . Ive never been this heavy it depressing.

I started taking protease enzymes that helps me break down protein and also zinc, I've lost almost all the weight. Due to the hormonal imbalance protein was hard for me to metabolize! Try it! Can't hurt

I used Nuvaring for 5 months and on the 6th month i decided to take a break from it because of the itchiness it caused down there. That month I remained sexually active with my partner an my period didn't arrive when scheduled. This caused me to freak out quite a bit so I took various (at least five) home pregnancy tests. They all gave negative results but I still wanted to see my Gyno to make sure I wan't pregnant. The day I went to the Dr's office she said that it was possible I had stressed a lot during the month, skipped ovulation and delayed my period, plus I was off the Nuva for the first time in a couple of months so that probably had something to do with it as well. That day my gyno prescribed me Provera, a steroidal progestin that helps induce periods in women suffering from amenorrhea (abnormal absence of menstruation). However, when I got home that day my period came seven days late!

Anyhow, I wanted to share this experience because at that time I was terrified and didn't know what was happening. Just remember to stay calm if this happens, take the tests at home and visit the Gynecologist if mother nature is resistant to come. It can be comforting to find relatable information online but Always, always talk to your doctor!
Hope this helps!
