I'm 35 180lbs now and mother of 2. I hate the idea of gaining weight...but this pain and heavy period is so frustrating! Its either gain weight or keep the pain...help!!!

Hoping the surgery to remove my breast tissue and ovaries goes as well as my hysterectomy 25 years ago. Wish we had the genetic testing available now.

I am scheduled tomorrow Sept. 9th and I'm scared and nervous and a little depressed by it, but I have a great supporting parents and God is in control. These post have made me feel a little more at ease although I'm not liking forward to the pain cuz I have a low tolerance for it. I have been getting things in place with honey and my job so I can focus on recovery. I do hope I get a nice start on the weight loss cuz I'm changing my eating habits to agree healthier lifestyle. Pray for me.

I'm 38 an I have 3 kids. I'm really worried about having a hysterectomy. I have gained so much weight every month my periods are so heavy I just need some insight on the procedure and will I lose weight. The doctor is wanting to leave both my ovaries and take the rest out and other people are saying that it's bad if they leave them in I'm really confused and worried at this time but at the same time I need to have something done.

I went to the doctor for my annual visit today and received news that my uterus is the size of a 4 month pregnancy as well. The next step is a pelvic ultrasound. I've heard much doom and gloom re: hysterectomy and was apprehensive about reading any more message boards. Thanks so much for the positive posts! Losing 20 lbs day of surgery...wow!

I've gained 20lbs after my hysterectomy 17m ago. I'm 4'11" tall and typically 110lbs. I haven't seen that number on the scale since surgery day. I've talked to doctors, nutritionists, herbalists etc. They all say the same thing, I'm in great health, eat healthy,I'm active but some women gain weight and struggle to get it off and keep it off. For me it's devastating. I wish you luck. I hope you are one of the lucky ones!!!
