I'm 15 days post op. Weight loss is 12lbs. Uterus was 24.5 weeks in size. I'm back to my normal weight. I've always been athletic and am glad to get rid of a bulging stomach that wasn't due to caloric intake. Best of luck to you all.

I just had the surgery on monday after bleeding and clotting 3 months straight. I feel great. I had laparoscopic and only took uterus and cervix out. I have lost 8 pounds since monday. Im actuallt not really hungry at all but try to eat several times a day. The only problem is bowel movement afterwards but other then that I made the best decision ever!!

I had a total hyst. on May 24, and have lost 26 pounds so far. This was the best decision I could have made for me and my body. I have no appetite at this time, but I'm sure I'll get it back. Go for it and loads of luck.

Thankful to read this. I am scheduled Aug. 12th and have put on about 20lbs in the last 2.5 years. Going in to this surgery needing to lose weight is definitely scary. However, I can only imagine how great i will feel and getting back into the gym full force will be wonderful once fully healed! Did you have vaginal? That is what I am having. Just uterus too.

I too had a good robotically assisted hysterectomy experience. 10 days postop today. First five days I had enough oain that I needed narco but then it just stopped. Now not taking anything at all. I too have lost 8 lbs! I think it is the shrink of the stomach. Doesn't feel good to be too full. Also gas pains have been by far the worst part. Just add Gas x to every meal. Miralax helped bowels return to normal.

This week goal is to get out of the house. Return to driving. Just a few hours a day of freedom!

Relax and enjoy the reading, binge tv watching, playing video or whatever!

I am on level 348 of candy crush now

I agree! Just had mine done in July 21. I'm lying in bed resting as we speak. Even with some pain I can tell I will feel better once fully recovered. No more severe menses & bloating or bladder pressure etc! Happy I finally got it done!!

So glad I read this too. I have a fibrous 10cm. After 6 months of hormone treatments of LupRon which cued severe depression among other side effects, weight gain etc. It shrunk from 15 to 10. Which is more operable now. Of course I don't want to get hysterectomy and was hoping to go into menapause first. Bit since I'm not and my last period was so pinful I was in bed 3 days, I scheduled surgery. Thank u all who puty mind at rest. My Dr said a week of recovery if they can do lapriscppocally or 2 weeks if they cut. I thought she was just making it sound so easy. But looks like she was right. Wish me luck. Will check back in after surgery. I have a low tolerance for pain bit looking coward to the weight loss!!!

Hi
I just found out I have to have surgery due to a fibroid pressing down on my bladder.
Glad to hear that it's not too bad to have this procedure.

I'm just nervous about recovery time.
