I am having a hysterectomy and left salpingo-oophorectomy on 12/18/15. I am also glad I found this site! Hearing and reading all the horror stories out there had me so scared, but once I started reading the positive stories here, I am feeling so much better about things!!:) Thank You to all of you who shared positive stories, you are helping other women facing this surgery see that there can be positive outcomes!!

Your post came very close to home for me. I am 27 years old, single with no kids. I have been on birth control since I was twelve and the depo provera for nine years straight. I have had four surgeries over the years to help with my liaisons and adhesions from severe endometriosis. Two surgeries were within three months of each and less then a year ago. The first was in December to remove a two inch cyst and liaisons. The second was in March to do a partial oopherectomy. It is now December again and I am scheduling for a hysterectomy. I wanted kids my whole life, so the news has been hard to take, although living life this way is harder. But I have lived with this disease for so long. I have seen how it has effected my relationships and changed me in so many ways. Before it started getting to the point where it began changing everything, I weighed 125. Now ten years later I weigh 165. I am really hopeful to the new possibilities I can't quite see or understand. After the partial oopherectomy, I went skydiving for the first time. I am finally surrendering because I want my life back. And hopefully one day I will be able to adopt a family. Thank you for the positivities.

Hello, I had my hysterectomy November 30, 2015 and I lost close to 20 pounds in the first week. I weighed 176 pounds and went down to 158 pounds. I 'm in my third week of recovery and I fluctuate between 163 and 165 pounds. I thought this was quite odd but I'm not complaining. This first week I could only eat maybe an ounce of food. The second week a little bit more. In my third week I'm eating a bit more but still not back to my original weight before the surgery,

Good afternoon everyone, I had my uterus, fallopian tubes and cervix taken out 6 days ago. It wasn't as bad as I expected. Still having gas pains and my appetite hasn't returned yet, but I'm grateful and thankful that the pain, periods and worries are over. Still in the healing process....

Having a full hysterectomy Feb. 19th. Very apprehensive about surgery. They have to go through my C-Section scar due to the size of my Uterus. Doc says my Uterus is like I am 16 weeks pregnant due to Fibroids. Not looking forward to it.
