If you keep your ovaries you should be fine and not get those side effects.
I had everything removed except my ovaries 3 weeks ago and I've never felt better.
My stomach is already shrinking too!
I was really swollen for about 10 days after surgery but now I'm loosing weight and my stomach hasn't been this small in years!

I'm currently at my Wits end. I have been bleeding heavily for a few months with excruciating pain, where I cant even get out of my bed, every month I'm booked off from work. Last year May and November I had thyroidectomy's due to Thyroid cancer and now this. Ive been to a gynae she said that I have adenomyosis and endometriosis and put me on Visanne and Premarin and guess what I'm still bleeding. The tablets are making me so aggressive and depressed all at once, I contacted the gynae and asked if she would give me a hysterectomy she says no I'm too young. I'm 36 have 2 kids and no need for my uterus. She wants me to go for uterine ablation but she says there is a risk of getting pain and bleeding again and if that's a case for me she will send me for more treatment. I just feel lost and in a hole. I have now made an appointment with another gynae because I cant go through this pain anymore.

I hope to lose some weight afterwards. But my gynaecologist wants me to lose some weight before and I'm having trouble doing so. Any help would be great. I'm 38 yrs old with 4 kids.

Hi there, I am almost 29 years old, a mother of two and a wife and work as a CCA in a nursing home. I found out 3 years ago I was born with a bleeding disease that would explain the hell I've gone through for years with pain and bleeding. I had an endiometrial ablasion a year and a half ago that wasnt successful so I had to have a hysterectomy. I am now 5 weeks post op and to be honest have felt great since the first few days of nothing but a mild discomfort. I havnt seen a drop of blood since I came out of the operating room and feel great. My body is tiring easy after I do too much but that's about it and I have been living my normal lifestyle all along. I know rest is important and all of that but I am someone who never stops and basically runs my whole household although my husband is a saint! I know when enough is enough and I listen to my body. This surgery was the best decision I have ever made and I can already see the results and cannot believe that I finally get to live a normal life. I have only gained 3 pounds since my operation and I have been eating as much as normal and then some for boredom. Water! Water! Water! And anything to help with your bowels getting back on track. I take a supplement for fiber along with a probiotic. Things are slowly going back to normal! Please anyone considering this should go for it and if there are any concerns to your health you will know beforehand. I hope for everyone to recover as well as I did. I know my age and health contributed a lot to the recovery as it did the method they were able to perform the surgery (vaginally and least abrasive). Fingers crossed for everyone! Take care :)

Wow so glad to hear some positive feed back on the web, opposed to just my family and encouraging co workers. I am having surgery April 27th, I know we are all different and I'm glad that I feel so positive about this surgery. My only draw back is work I really can't take the time off, but really I serve a wonderful GOD I know he will see me thru it all. I must say you can always tell who loves you, my family is awesome, it does include two ladies that don't share my same blood, and an Amazing man in my life. Lift God up ladies for making us women to give life.
