I haven't slept with anyone in over a month and I've noticed resently that my vagina was becoming itchy in one are and when I looked I noticed a rash like area but instead of your normal red spots they look more like small blisters this is the second time this has happened the first time it just went away but it's worse this time. I noticed ichy rash almost identical on the side of my foot but I thought it was from my shoes. Now I'm just confused I need help!
Dear Jenny
I would strongly urge you to get it checked out by your GP or OB/GYN without delay. Vulva blisters on their own could be innocuous, but as they itch it indicates it could be something more sinister.
Although Genital Herpes symptoms can occur within a few days of coming into contact with the virus, it can be weeks, months or even years before they become apparent. So when you do get the symptoms, it doesn’t necessarily mean you've recently come into contact with the virus (some people don't get symptoms).
I don't know where you live, but in the UK, tests are free on the NHS from genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinics, sexual health clinics or from your GP, and are confidential.
NB. If confirmed, previous partners need to be informed/warned!
I'd be interested in how you get on.
