I just had a routine physical done and some of the blood results are in the high ranges. Does anyone know what could cause these elevations and if they are related to one another?
I am a 36 year old female, 2 children, overweight, I have almost all the symptoms of hypothyroidsm.
sTSH 8.78 (normal 0.35-5.00)
RBC 90.0 (normal 80.0-99.0)
WBC 11.3 (normal 4.0-11.0)
Neutrophils 8.02 (normal 1.8-7.0)
I just went for more bloodwork and some iodine/nuclear test for the thyroid. Can genital herpes cause the higher wbc number even if there is not a current outbreak? After reading more online I'm beginning to wonder if it might be cancer.

Hi:
I'm sorry that my advice is not as technical as you seem to be seeking, but here's my input....Your thyroid gland essentially controls just about everything that goes on in your body (processes). If your thyroid gland has not been functioning properly, than perhaps your levels would be off? What did the doctor say about this? The good news is that thyroid problems have solutions. In addition, thyroid cancer is very slow moving, (that's from my doctor). Try to stay calm about it while vigorously seeking out answers. Visit an endocrinologist if you haven't already. They specialize in this area. They can answer the herpes questions as well. Do this soon, there is problem, but it may not be as serious as your imagination...Go get your answers and your peace of mind.
