My girlfriend told me she hasn't had a period in 7 months. She is not on birth control. Something is screwed up with her hormones or it could be something else I'm not quite sure. I cant get her to talk about it much or go see a doctor. I'm just saying this to let you know our situation.

Five days ago we had sex, I wore a condom as I always do, but this time
when we were finished I discovered the condom had broke inside of her.

We both freaked out and she got in the shower and tried to wash as much semen out of her as she could.... could this have been a bad thing to do?

Since she hasnt had a period in so long, and me being kind of uneducated on the whole monthly cycle business, and when a girl is fertile and when she's not, I need to know whats going on with her body and if she can get pregnant.

The next morning we went and got "Plan B" brand emergency birth control and took as directed 9 hours after we had sex.

Is there a follow up treatment?

When should we take a pregnancy test?

Can her body give false results on a pregnancy test since she hasnt had a period in so long?

Now what should we do? What is plan C?

Comments and advice please.
If she hasn't had a period for 7 months this means that she is already pregnant or there is another medical problem there.
I think she should get that sorted out first.

Just for future information, washing sperm out will not guarantee that she will not become pregnant, some sperm can still be in there. If something like this happens she should get the morning after pill.
But at least you were wearing protection!

If she were 7 months pregnant I would know because
her tummy is flat with visable abs.

We did get the morning after pill as I stated.

I know that washing sperm out is not a guarantee but can it hurt the situation?

I know that sperm die if they become too hot so thats why I wanted her to flush herself out with warm water and soak in a hot bath, but I was wondering if it could actually flush the sperm further towards their destination?

yes it would probably propell the semen further into the vagina, if anything, anything she cleaned out would have been the exess that hadn't gone into the uterus initially. also, warm water wouldnt do anything, it'd have to have been extremely hot.

but its ok,
if you got the morning after pill you should both be fine, although i STRONGLY reccomend she go to the doctor about her lack of periods, as it might be an underlying problem that needs to be adressed/

Can you people not read? I was wearing a condom! I always do.

well you said here the condom broke.

the point of a condom is it stops semen getting into the uterus. you know this. if the condom broke then semen DID get into the uterus. because it is no longer protecting the woman if it breaks is it.

we can read.

Thank you sooooo much......another brilliant reply from the Department of Duh! Thanks for stating the obvious and not addressing any of my other questions.

The person above told me to have safe sex and wear a condom as if they didnt read the part where I said that I was wearing one.

Could someone please reply to some of the other questions I asked in my post.

thats just her signature, its not part of her post, it just appears at the bottom of every post she makes. just like "here to offer advice etc etc" appears at the bottom of my posts, I dont actually type it out its just automatic.

No, you take Plan B and thats all you can do but wait to see if it worked.

When should we take a pregnancy test?

pregnancy tests are usually always accurate 21 days AFTER you had sex.

so for you it would be the 10th of february. You can take one earlier if you buy an early response brand, -ClearBlue is quite good- but the complete earliest you can take it is 15 days after you had this unprotected sex. (this is because when a woman conceives it takes 2 weeks for the levels of hormones to rise high enough to show up on the test) the most common causes for a false negative result for a test when the woman is in fact pregnant is from taking the test too early.

since she isn't likely to come on her period soon, I would take another test to settle your minds.

ALWAYS take a second test a few days later. to confirm results in case the first test was wrong.

Can her body give false results on a pregnancy test since she hasnt had a period in so long?

No, pregnancy tests detect hCG - (human chorionic gonadotropin) - this hormone is ONLY present in pregnant women. and if you arent pregnant it wont be in your body!

Now what should we do? What is plan C?

taking emergancy birth control was a good idea, apart from that, all there is now is waiting I'm afraid!

good luck.

I'm glad you realised you were an ass cos people on here are just trying to help.

Some people can be pregnant and not show much.

But even if she isn't pregnant, not having a period for 7 months means there is something seriously wrong and she defiantely needs to see a doctor.

If you took a morning after pill there is a very very small chance that she is pregnant. I wouldn't worry too much....As for next time, if the condom breaks the dammage is done, there is no washing in the world that will help! Lol Stick with the morning after pill...
Although I would worry about a woman not getting her periods for 7 months...she has ammenoreaha. If she has a very flat stomach with abs it sounds like she has a very low body weight which can be unhealthy, does she eat properly? I would get that checked out, it can be serious....
Good luck!
