I am a Ballet dancer who was recently diagnosed with a stress fracture in the second metatarsal of my left foot. The doctors put me in a walking boot and told me to stay off of it for six weeks or until I was pain free. I am looking for some exercises that I could do to stay active while my foot heals. I have been doing a little bit of yoga (refraining from the weight bearing exercises of course) and I always stretch with my fellow dancers, but I am still on the look out for new things to try. I was thinking of trying my hand swimming, but I am afraid that the pressure of the water combined with the movement of the feet when you kick will just irritate it more. I am desperate for answers! Does anyone have any ideas, or has anyone else had to deal with this type of injury? Any feedback is appreciated! :-)
Swim with a floatie between your legs. You won't have to kick and you will still get a great workout.
Good luck
