I agree with Jeff, why in the hell would you waste your time and anyones else's time if your not serious about getting clean. Your defeating the whole purpose, plus if you pay out of pocket for your Dr's apts and your sub, your an id**t. Your just blowing money as if you have it . Once a junkie always a junkie. Again, Good Luck to all you that still want to do dope, you will never get anywhere in life. Sorry to have to say that, but it's true. I bet 90 percent of you out there that still want to get high while on sub hasn't held a job for longer then 6 months.

I'm not sure how to properly respond to this post. It starts by stating that other posts have c**p information although it then goes on to talk about Naloxone incorrectly. The Naloxone that is in Suboxone only makes it into your blood if you crush and inject the Suboxone into your vein. The Naloxone is only there to prevent Subxone abuse. If you take the Sublinguals normally no Naloxone makes it into your blood. It is not able to pass the liver. The Buprenorphine is what will kick out the other Opiates on your receptors and cause you to go into withdraw. This is because Buprenorphone has a high affinity but low effect. Essentially it kicks off all the Oxy but doesn't act as strongly, thus immediate withdraws. The Naloxone prevents any binding from happening which would be a much worse Withdraw than what happens with the Buprenorphone.

The Naloxone in Suboxone is nothing to worry about unless you plan on IV injecting the Suboxone.

This is quite an ignorant post. The majority of people that get addicted to Heroine or Oxy's are white colar workers that suffered an injury requiring long term pain killer use. Then the prescribing Doctor doesn't manage their care well, doesn't taper them or just cuts them off completely.

How do you think all these people became addicts to begin with? Oxycodone abuse is not a cheap addiction. This is why it's seen high abuse in Middle and Upper Class America.

Obviously you have never had an opiate addiction. You have no clue what the F it feels like to be in withdrawal. YES, I have heard it all before. Why put your self through this if you have finished withdrawing? All I can say is BECAUSE. I have no clue why, Honestly, 1 hour ago I was withdrawing from oxy then I took a suboxone and started feeling better. Then, FINALY, my oxy deal came in and what did I do go straight to the restroom and sniff them. Did the suboxone make me feel better, Yes. at little, I probably didn't wait long enough for the full effect. Did I get high from the oxy NO! Did I know I wasn't going to get high and it would be wasted, Yes. However, I did it any way. Why? BECAUSE, I took that freaking first little 5mg hydro about 10 years ago and slowly have worked my self up to where I am now. So, for all you judgmental people out there. All I can say, You Have Never Been Here You don't know what this is like day to day. I wish everyday I never worked at the job I worked at when I took my first 5 mg. I WISH EVERYDAY OF MY LITTLE LIFE, that I never took that first one. So, back off and realize, YOU DONT KNOW!

you can mix suboxone and xanax no problem. I take two 8mg/2 every single day and 3 2mg xanax and no problem. Hope that helps.

I have been on Suboxin for seven months. First of all if u take an Oxy after taking a sub it will be a waste you won't feel it. When I first started On was staying with my friend and she was always giving me Oxys I took it and felt nothing and I did not go into any type of withdrawal. It's just stupid to waste pills and money. Also I take benzos while taking Subs. It is prescribed to me and I feel better. I never had any problems and my doc is not against it as long as u take it as prescribed. So far it works great for me . I take 16 mil of Suboxin a day and one bar not every day but three times a week. It really works great for mr I have not used pills or dope .Good luck do the subs and ur life will never great again.

Hello All,

I was reading through all the comments and figured I'd chip in my two cents about my life story and my rehabilitation and recovery and where I came from for you to get a general idea. I hope I can help someone.--My Story--

I started in 2008 when my foot was ran over. I was on 10mg of Percocet and 10mg of Vicodin 3x daily. The euphoria was amazing. I didn't even care I was in a wheel chair with 2 broken feet, I felt great.

Then they took me off of it after 6 months and I still have consistent pain in my foot. I was then prescribed Ultracet 6x a day. This did the trick for me because I was in sales and it amped me up and allowed me to really sell.

After starting Ultracet in 2010 I stayed on them up until 2013.. I would occasionally run across Percocet and buy some but I didn't have the money to afford $1 a milligram. So I didn't really have a problem with them just occasional user. A 10mg would rock my world.

Then the Ultracet stopped working and the amount I was taking was damaging my liver, and the ultracet not working was creating anxiety for me. I was then prescribed Xanax in 2012 1mg 3x daily. Now after being in sales for 2 years, I was making damned good money nearly $75,000 a year for one year that I did District Management. I was able to afford the once unaffordable Oxycontin and Perkocet and found a dealer where I was able to get bulk for cheap. This was my downfall. In December of 2013 I was lavishing in all of my drugs. My 1mg Xanax 3x a day. My 5 to 10Mg Oxycontin and Percocet 3x a day. I was bound for a crash and it happened in April of 2014. I lost my beloved girlfriend, my family was disappointed in me, I lost visitation with my daughter, my parents were going through a divorce. My life was a mess.

Then in July of 2014 of still buying my Oxys and Percs and drinking on top of that WHILE taking Xanax I knew I had to get help or I was going to end up dying. I didn't want to go out that way, I didn't want my obituary to say from an overdose and people know (because at the time no one knew)

I reached out to people, anyone I knew. My Dad helped me get linked up with an old friend who introduced me to Suboxone. He said he had been on it for 6 months and he was able to stop taking the perks and oxys that he was taking. I decided to give it a shot, I would buy 7 Suboxone a week from him and started my road to recovery. Since I was not in a doctors care or a clinic I had to switch between Suboxone and when he didn't have enough I had to do a few Percs or Ultracet which I was able to find. As of the past 2 months I was accepted into a rehabilitation and addiction center. I was prescribed Suboxone 8mg 1 1/2 times a day. After 1 month I am now tapering down to a half of Suboxone a day and things are looking good! I expect over the course of the next 2-4 weeks to be completely off everything except the Xanax. I still have general anxiety and expect it to increase once I get off of the Suboxone because I do have a stress and anxiety disorder.--End of my story--

However if you are SERIOUS about recovery and not abusing, Suboxone is the answer. It stopped my craving for the Percocet and Oxys which became almost non effective anymore. It also restored me back to not feeling weak, tired or drained.

As for the original post and people talking about Xanax, and Suboxone, I take 4mgs a day of Xanax and the 8mg Suboxone and am perfectly fine. I am not a doctor so I don't suggest you go out and take this amount of dosage of Xanax with your Suboxone because I have a very high tolerance with Xanax.

Also about the question about taking an Oxy or Percocet with Suboxone for an extreme pain, I just had to do that today. I took my 8mg Suboxone this morning at 10am and just took a 10mg Oxy at 1pm for my tooth (wisdom teeth) it doesn't give you an euphoria effect but it does definitely help with pain! Now the tricky part is not getting addicted to Suboxone! Suboxone is not meant to be on it more then 6 months! Be careful! Doctors will sometimes keep people on the Suboxone to keep them in their clinic and keep making money from selling the prescriptions from the Pharmacuetical companies! Suboxone is pretty easy to come off of compared to Oxys or Percs but do not allow yourself to be dependent on Suboxone or it's a vicious cycle, you are just switching from one drug to a government drug.

As someone noted before, it is ALL mental! You can do it as long as you are willing to quit and tell yourself you do NOT need anything. You will feel weird for a week or so and out of place but you will eventually come back too and be able to smell again, taste foods again, enjoy the small things in life that once made us users happy! I am finally starting to be happy again WITHOUT the use of Suboxone, Percs or Oxys.

I hope this helps someone. Please reach out to me if you need help or a mentor, I have done this and I am in my final stages of getting off everything completely. I hope these next 2-4 weeks go okay not taking Suboxone but I think I will just do fine :]

Hi there, I just read your response. I know its a year later; but I have the same question; but now I am wondering if I should continue on with my suboxone ...the next dose ? Is it safe to take my next normal dose or will I go into a precipitated withdrawl? I only took 8mg of Suboxone (for the first time) and waited for relief of my initial withdrawl symptoms but they didn't get any better, so I took about 50mg of Oxycontin. I didn't take it to get high , I took it to feel normal like I should have after the Suboxone. Now I am worried about when to take my next regular dose of suboxone.

I have been on suboxone for years and had to have 4 surgeries in one year.I made sure my surgeon and anesthesiologist knew I was taking 4 8mg per day. They adjusted accordingly and I did fine while I was under. I did not have to wean off of the sub. at all. Hope this helps.

I've been on subs for almost 4 years. First I took three 8 mg a day for about 3 months, (I was taking almost 150-200 mg of a combo of roxies & opanas daily) then dropped my dose quickly until I was at 1/2 of a 2 mg, in hope that I'd be off subs soon. BUT I've been at 1 mg for 2 years and can't seem to drop any lower. I felt bad but I've met others who are still at 8-16 mg a day and have been for 5 or more years... and have NO desire to drop lower. Anyhow, I've had some wisdom teeth issues and my dentist gave me percs last week. I told him I didn't want them but he said the pain wouldn't subside with 800 mg ibuprofen, that I requested. I took my half a 2 mg sub at 5 pm and after INTENSE NONSTOP pain, I finally broke down and took half a 10 mg perc, after crying and feeling like a failure for ending my sobriety... but man if you've had impacted W teeth... YOU know. That makes u wanna kick puppies, during its dullest. I felt a BIG buzz, surprisingly. And after the 2nd half I got high. Stupidly, I broke down to my old method and snorted another... if you're gonna fail, make it worth it... and was SOARING. I'm so scared of relapsing but my sub doc told me taking pain meds FOR pain isn't relapsing (he doesn't know I crushed one tho) Haven't taken a sub since I took the 1st perc... Got surgery scheduled next week and I'll be back to strictly subs again after. God willing. After 4 years I still feel like a slave to pps. They're the damn devil. That euphoric high is too hard to resist. Subs truly saved my life and I hope this is just a small test that I'll pass. I actually LOVED life not worried about finding pills like every day. It was REAL life.

Amen! Those who don't have that part of their "pleasure center" in the brain that opiates stimulate, and can control, like a master to a slave, have NO idea. It's the cause and definition of addiction. You don't know what will trigger it, until it's unfortunately introduced to you. Then your brain says AH HA! And you're hooked. True story.
