What is the procedure called pita? I heard that it’s innovation in surgery in kids. Please tell me if you are better informed about pita. I think it is related to tonsil surgery. Thanks!

Yes, I’ve heard about pita surgery. A kid from my neighborhood had tonsillitis and he had surgery performed by pita technique. His parents were amazed how quickly he recovered. I heard that it’s less painful and shows faster recovery than common tonsil surgeries. I don’t know what p i t a exactly means. If you find out, post then.

Hi there,
There isn’t much information on this procedure to be honest. I found out few things that I will share with you. This procedure is done with microdebrider. This is some tiny instrument with rotating tip. The rotating tip gives surgeon more precision and control then other traditional tools that they use when they do tonsillectomy. With this procedure they can remove more obstructive tissue or adenoids that might be ill. This way surgeons are able to protect more muscle tissue and the chances of strong pain are very minimal. There is also a shortening of convalescent period. Have you considered doing this or you are just curious about the efficiency of the procedure?
All the best,
Danella
