What type of tyrosinemia is serious?

I heard something about a condition called tyrosinemia at a dinner yesterday, and it was interesting to hear. Someone's son had tyrosinemia and they were talking about it. Frankly I didn't dare to ask any questions, but as far as I understand there are multiple types of tyrosinemia, some of which are serious and others of which are not. Can you tell me more?
