im 13 years old, and when i get up really fast, or just out of the blue, i get dizzy and confused. I cant think and cant see, removing my ability to walk. last time it happened and was serious, i fell, but luckily landed in a recliner. Any ideas as to what this might be?

Hello,

believe it or not, it happens to all of us at one point or another to suddenly get up, get blackout in front of our eyes, feel dizzy and just sit back. It's a very common thing and on its own it's not all that dangerous as long as you don't fall and hurt yourself. But the problem is, there are a large number of reasons as to why it happens.

For some people it happens if they don't eat and for others it can happen when they get up after the meal. You didn't say if you are a boy or a girl, but for girls of this age is somewhat common to suffer from iron deficiency caused anemia and that can cause the dizziness almost out of the blue. It might also be that your blood sugar is low, or a number of things.

What's dangerous id if this starts to happen regularly and often - then you'd need tests done to determine the exact cause.
