This seems like a great forum! Mind if I join you? My co-worker and friend, with whom I share a company, has been having terrible joint pains. She calls it arthritis, but I am pretty sure it is in fact gout. I know that gout can be decreased enormously just through nutrition. Can you tell me which foods people with gout need to avoid?
Alcohol is a biggie, your friend will definitely need to avoid that if you have gout. Most red meats are also really bad, especially beef and pork need to be avoided. I have heard that chicken can be eaten in moderation, as well as mushrooms, but you should not over do them. A low purine diet is what it's called. I'll get you some links if you want?
